What did you do today?
I can certainly think of better places to have watched the second half of the Pats game. Otherwise I'm just happy that it's mostly painless. I'd like to think I'll be out of here before too long - it's been over a hour already.

What did you do today?
Currently sitting in the ER waiting to get stitches in my left index finger. I attacked it earlier today with a hack saw.

Overpriced? I liked the Wadia CD player that I had well enough, it was built like a tank and had a pretty unique feature set (built in remote preamp, digital inputs) but Wadias in general seem to command a premium price. Especially the older stuff. About the only piece of gear that I'd like to own made by Wadia is the Ipod Dock.

Nicely done Mike. Next time we want your chip number so we can organize some sort of drinking game based on your splits.

Clearly it needs bigger cables.- JH Audio stuffs
One already exists, sorta. No idea who owns it anymore.- JH Audio stuffs
I would not suggest using a beta, regardless of gain with the JH13s. While their 119db is not the most sensitive I've seen with IEMs if there's even a hint of background noise in your amp or source you're going to hear it. The idea that he was showing them off driven balanced at RMAF is pretty crazy.- Happy Birthday elnero!
Shoot, how did I miss this, Happy late Birthday!- What are you listening to Part Two
Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings The Flood- Post the last thing you bought!
I just got a set of Mundorf 20uF/750VDC M-tube Caps, they are rectangular in shape and I can't stop laughing at them- With what existential crisis are you grappling right now?
I break the bar up before opening, usually into at least three pieces. Open along the length, eat big pieces and throw away the crumbs before they can attack.- DIY Mini Meet in Austin
So this weird little padded envelope just showed up...- DACing Off
Probably not going to. Won't have time to back to back it till this weekend at the earliest but the EAD didn't suck, the midrange was particularly nice w/ the Sigs/SRM-T1W last night.- JH Audio stuffs
I guess I'm the exact opposite then. When I'm at home I don't want or need any ambient attenuation and the Lambda Sigs are pretty damn comfy.- DIY Mini Meet in Austin
What are you planning to use for cutters/bits?- JH Audio stuffs
[wet blanket] You know, despite everyone universally loving these things I am still struck by zero desire to sell my soul and get a pair and I'm surprised that so many seem to be doing so. I mean who wouldn't expect them to sound great at ~$1100+? Do they sound better than other $1100 headphones? Right now everyone says yes, but seriously what happens when Jerry (or whomever) launches the next great audio earpiece that has 8 double-stuffed drivers for super extra awesome yummy goodness? For folks that spend a ton of time listening to IEMs I get it but for everyday headphones, no fracken way. Ok, enough out of me.[/wet blanket]- Collective Gear List?

This reeks of insanity to me. A) there's no way it would stay current, no one keeps their profile/sig current, why would they do any different with a spreadsheet? It'd be way to easy for someone to accidentally delete data they didn't intend to and render the whole thing null and void. Good idea, sure, but impossible to manage.- HD800 Amp Upgrade (WA6 or B22)
You do know that I actually own one of those POS cables, right. One of these days I'm going to cut the connectors off of it and use it for a nice cable.- DACing Off
So far I'm not sad about my purchase, that's for sure.- 2009 Rocky Mountain Audio Fest & CanJam@RMAF
