There are no current plans to build the amp that I'm building in the commercial realm but just because it isn't a 1:1 translation doesn't mean it's open source. That said, some of the information contained on the schematic may be viewed as proprietary or at the very least not something Pete feels like giving away. I honestly didn't ask because it's his choice and one I'll certainly abide by as I'm sure everyone else here would if placed in the same position.

Nope, I'm not the designer so me fiddling is a bad idea. Also, I'm not building something that hasn't already gone through a lot of tweaking or isn't at least something that someone I trust has gone through before. It's a one-off but has well formed roots. I also happen to be one of those people who can't stand endless tweaking, cap/resistor rolling, etc. I'm of the opinion that doing so is just a waste of time and yields differences best quantified by "I can't remember what it sounded like before so it must be better".

That's not entirely correct. It depends on where Andy and his friends buy there eggs. If they are commercial eggs it's likely they are sterile, if they are "farm fresh" you never know.

I'm about 50/50 right now. It's 2 days before Lily's birthday and I'm doing what I can to convince my wife that celebrating it the following weekend would be the best option. It's also unclear whether or not the whole family will make the trip so that the wife/kid can visit friends who live in the city or if I'll make the typical solo trip.

The Official Naming Convention of Menaces (Menacie?) The original will always be simply "The Menace". (approx 50lbs) The most recent incarnation is "The MenaceTC Lite". (approx 30lbs) The forthcoming stupidly expensive 307A-based nonsense is tentatively called "Colossus". Since the topology is so different I decided a while back to give it an entirely different name. I'm not sold on the current one, but until something better comes around it is what it is. Someone could, if so inclined, build a MenaceTC that would bear a strong similarity to the original and would be even heavier but that amp would look significantly different than the 307A amp. I also won't be able to share the schematic I'm using for the 307A amp further separating it from the original Menace concept. As for what it takes to be called Colossus, well here's the current pile o' parts.
