I'll find out more tomorrow at 1:30 evidently. Thanks for all the well wishes, I'm trying not to come across as a giant drama queen.
And Stretch, no worries, I'm a dandy on crutches.
X-ray's were inconclusive other than to show that I didn't break any bones and that I have two huge screws in my leg from previous surgery which it turn means no MRI. Now waiting to see how soon an Orthopedic Doc can take a look at me, which might not happen for days. Should make for a [sarcasm] exciting week.
Went to first doc appointment, just got xrayed, now headed back to doc to see if an mri is required. I'm hoping the news isn't awful since it's unikely there will be any good news today.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it, I use mine near nightly as the music server for my SB3. It'll also more than pay for itself the next time you travel, mine was indispensable on a recent trip.
Perhaps what you really should be considering is how many drinks will be required this coming weekend to convince a certain out of town visitor for a loaner program?
No worries Steve, in my current physical condition it'll be a little while before I can get into the storage closet so we've got time. It's a TD160, FWIW.
I should donate my Thorens to Steve, he can build a plinth for it and re-enter the vinyl spinny world. Just say the word Steve and I'll dig it out of the closet.

Stretch,
It would be cool, but if it's a hassle hauling it I'd understand given its "sold" status. I'll have a spare set of balanced outputs (the BHse will be fed SE ) so if you just want to bring the amp you can chain it off my gear. I'm not going to bring the twisted pear amp unless I can get the channel imbalance I'm fighting with fixed first.
Let me boil it down for you to its simplest form.
You claim you performed a test. Your "test" was not a valid test and therefore it's results are nearly meaningless. Just because you performed a random series of events does not make it a valid test. If you would like to claim that you, through empirical data gathering, discerned that most users like a certain setup better than another that's fine. It's just not a conclusive result.
Eastern Japan 50 Hz (Tokyo, Kawasaki, Sapporo, Yokohoma, and Sendai)
Western Japan 60 Hz (Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Hiroshima)
Taken from - Electricity Around the World - which is one of the more complete lists I've seen and has proven to be pretty accurate the few times I've referenced it.
Enough about my stupid knee I say. Talked with the doc, we'll deal with this first thing Monday.
In other news I flipped the switch on a certain high voltage amplification project and with the help of a slim guy on the way to the airport managed to get it biased up properly and confirm that all appears to be well. I have to wrap up some final input wiring details (hopefully tonight) and then I'll post a few pictures.
That was this morning's goal, go to the PCP and get a referral to an orthopedist and get an MRI/Xray. With all the calamity going on around here today that seems to be unlikely.
At least we have power here, which is shocking since we're out in the middle of nowhere.
