  1. Really sorry to hear that Greg.
  2. If you're in Maine can I come see your rocket? That didn't sound too good, did it? P.s. Maine may be underwater.
  3. Good luck with both of those, Stephen.
  4. I've found a local machinist within 10min. of my house that has both a vertical mill and CNC router so really my thinking is that a manual machine would be enough and that if I wanted anything that really needed CNC I'd just farm it out. Conversions, even the easy ones, are really expensive. I've also got a line on a full-sized, CNC equipped knee mill that I'm going to try and check out. The pisser with the little TAIG mill pictured above is that it's not really good for manual work anymore and I don't want to be tied to the computer for every part.
  5. Probably going to go look at this little guy in the next week or so. Can't decide if a very well kitted CNC benchtop unit would be better than a much larger, manual mill. Honestly I'm leaning more towards the manual side of things since I want to be the one cutting the holes.
  6. If I buy a mill I'll post some pics. Thinking about setting up a small machine shop in the garage. It would bring hole cutting technology to a whole new level.
  7. I suppose that's better than the knife Dinny, here's to hoping Jack is unaffected. Tyll, that's fuggin' sweet mang.
  8. Started taking the plunge: [1] machinist's square [2] center/edge finders
  9. While this isn't snow this video starts about 5 miles north of my house and is the route I normally take to work. Exeter River Level Rises - Video - WMUR Manchester
  10. 4x24 is roughly equivalent to 18ga so you should be ok. I was concerned it was more like 28, which would have made the bundle just a single 22awg conductor which might have been scary. There are secondary affects to consider here that I can't help with, the cumulative capacitance and resistance presented by a multi-strand cable like that could be problematic for some amps.

As a friend of mine once eloquently put it, just leave the boots on.
  12. I'd be concerned if the run got really long and they were feeding power hungry speakers. Any idea what the strand diameter is?
  13. Massive Attack - Heligoland
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Haj, I've probably got something for you on the iPod front.
  16. My impatience certainly wasn't with you Kevin, I perhaps mistakenly thought that those resistors were out of stock and it seemed like a pisser that the amp would have to wait for them.
  17. Yup, the forecast is for 3 to 5" of rain today. I'd guess we've got close to 2 already and I now have riverfront property. Thankfully the river is well below my basement level but the same can't be said for my downhill neighbor.
  18. Sorry Haj that sucks. The day we moved into our house the downstairs toilet started leaking and the first thing I got to do in my new house was cut a hole in the garage ceiling.
  19. Took Lily to her first haircut which consequently meant that she got her first lollypop. She did much better than expected.
  20. I can't believe that 4 330k resistors are getting in the way of this thing making music. Looks great though and thanks for all the documentation Kevin.
  21. I don't think there's much to the '4' other than using that wire and wrapping it with a 10AWG ground wire. You can piece the recipe together from the above quote and this link. VH Audio Flavor 4 Power Cable My 2c would be not to bother since I'm pretty sure that you don't have to provide 9AWG for the hot and nuetral of any component in your house but feel free to give it a shot if you want. My power cable musings peaked at http://www.audiotweaks.com/diy/bobcrump_pc/page01.htm.
  22. Bump, come on you slackers.
  23. I really do admire the way you just don't fuck around.
  24. Answer: my house?
