  1. Rolling to the course.
  2. Last good, hard training ride in the books. I'll spin a few miles this week to keep the legs moving but I feel well equipped for the century.
  3. Last night's dinner - all homemade - lobster pie, reverse seared filet mignon, seasoned potatoes.
  4. No worries Brent and thanks to everyone that has supported this. The team is currently the fourth highest fundraisers having met our overall goal and the event itself is doing amazing. Training continues to go well although it was a light week this week with multiple work events and remnants of a hurricane pushing me indoors. Still, I'm feeling well prepared and will spend part of this weekend making sure the bike is good to go for next weekend.

    RMAF 2021

My guess is that it's not cancelled forever but more than they're out of the ability to pay for staff to prepare for something they don't know when they'll get to do next. I mean what do you need a sales staff for when there's no event. What do you need logistics people for when there's no logic (ok, don't go there, I'm kidding). But I bet someone still owns all of the IP associated with the brand and if the world ever unfucks itself sufficiently there'll be a new RMAF. Related aside - i can't imagine how many industries/events were and are still hanging on to the hope that they will be able to do their thing this year and get back to a position of doing things and making money. How many promotion, production, catering, event rental businesses etc. have gone under or are on the brink? [/rant]
  6. Last day for matching funds, $26 from my goal.
  7. To the top - matching funds still in play and 74% of.the way to my goal.
  8. Continued pounding the pavement today and rode to work despite a little grumpiness from my right knee. Made great progress towards my funding goal this week, largely thanks to you guys.
  9. Working from home today, dealing with whatever is left in the fridge syndrome and happened upon what I believe to be a winner. Smoked pulled pork and eggs fried in bacon fat, eventually topped with cheese and some of the aforementioned bacon
  10. Nah, you guys are the best making me look like a fricken fundraising hero every year.
  11. ^^^ WOOWOO, thanks man!
  12. Back to the front. Donations this week are matched up to $50k so please, donate if you can.
  13. BuMp - The Paralympic Games start today. Current Mileage - 2,700
  14. This. Sweet Jesus, that thing is awesome.
  15. I've been working on a bunch of small projects with the laser lately, including a few custom coasters for friends and such. Even made a batch for Andrew's baseball coaches. The one in the background is the prototype, the foreground the final. We gave them to them last week and all thought it was pretty cool. I'll post some of the other stuff after an even that I'm making them for and we'll see if others post some stuff that I've made for them.
  16. Thanks everyone, as always I really appreciate the support and so does KBF.
  17. Once again this year I'm prepping to ride a century in support of the Kelly Brush Foundation. Between indoor Zwifting, the MTB, and multiple road bikes I've been pounding (or is it prancing?) on the pedals this year. I've amassed some 2,600+ training miles already with a goal of getting as close to 3,000 before the event as possible. This year marks a return to the in-person ride up in VT, with friends mostly coming from near by to do this as a group as safely as possible. For me this is the 10th century that I've done in support of either Northeast Passage or Kelly Brush and I'm looking forward to enjoying it. A bit about KBF - they are a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with spinal cord injuries in finding ways to get out and enjoy an active lifestyle. For me, this is a cause close to my heart. I love the outdoors and the freedom to explore it in a variety of ways and have worked with organizations like the KBF for the last twenty years to help others do the same. So the mission remains the same, 'm trying to raise a bunch of money again this year with a goal of $2,000. As usual, all of the donations are tax deductible and maybe some legislation will get passed this year to make that more meaningful but really, I'm hoping the motivation isn't just to get a write off. So for those that are interested, here's the link to my personal fund raising page - https://kbf.akaraisin.com/ui/2021KellyBrushRide/p/59fc933a03a54ed49869208beac367ff Any donation large or small is very much appreciated.
  18. ^^^ Not sure exactly what you're asking, many of us have used switches like what you're describing but not knowing what or how you're proposing to use one it's impossible to answer your questions. Most uses that I'm aware of have been to trigger relays (power on/off, source selector) in which case it sees very little voltage or current and is serving its intended function. If you're thinking about some other application, it'll require careful consideration.
  19. Thanks, Craig. The 50mi actually felt really good. The 20mi rip was a ton of fun but definitely left me sore for days.
  20. Posting these for Brent's entertainment.
  21. Peach cobbler that Lily and I made the other night.
  22. Oh damn, that’s sweet! I’ll post my latest project this weekend, I have to let the DoD do their job Friday first.
