  1. That's odd Ryan, I never had dropout issues with that router and it wasn't uncommon to have 3 or 4 wireless devices all accessing it at the same (two laptops, a netbook music server and my SB3). I wonder if this is the iPad specific wireless issue that cropped up and if you need to set the router to run on a specific band (G only?)? But I'm way out of my depth here...
  2. Shhhh, don't tell him that!
  3. More like "dongle" but I'd imagine that if a company is motivated it's now pretty clear that you can tap audio via USB out of the iPad dock connector which opens up a whole host of options. I wonder what the camera connection cable really consists of and if Apple is willing to tell people? It'd be sucky if it was once again some proprietary BS like what companies had to do to get digital out of the iPod but wouldn't really be surprising.
  4. Been there Haj, we did it twice, once with an overnight thrown in for good measure. Try and roll with it as much as the nerves will allow but also allow for the fact that being stressed about it is a normal reaction.
  5. I asked essentially the same question more than a week ago with not much in the way of reply. Hell, I'll send my Transit to someone if they want to try it.

    Justified

There's a whole CD of it, which was available free for download for a while (it has since been pulled) and if you want I'll send it your way. I enjoy the heck out of it.
  7. If you don't want to see me at CanJam I'll go see Imogen.
  8. Happy Birthday!
  9. Happy Birthday to the both of you!
  10. Got to use the chainsaw, always fun. Did some other misc. yard work. More work on the cabinets I'm building for the wife in our laundry room. Mowed for a few hours. Now sitting, pondering what to pour for a cocktail to top it all off.
  11. Must save good will for CanJam trip.
  12. Dude, SWEET! She's one that I've always wanted to see live.
  13. Congrats Stephen! Mike, sorry to hear about your friend.
  14. It may also point to the pending expiration of their exclusive deal with Apple and wanting to make it particularly painful to leave.
  15. If the iPhone ever does go to another carrier they are going to be rather sad at the level of unhappiness that they have cultivated during their exclusive period. One would think that they'd be doing everything in their power to keep customers satisfied and happy, but I suppose that makes too much sense to be true. I'd guess my next phone won't be an iPhone and I only bought an iPhone when I found a way to do so without having a contract.
  16. As far as I understand it there are a few options that some carriers are offering: 1. USB tethering, you connect your phone to another device (laptop) via a usb cable and the phone serves as the 3G modem for that device. 2. Wireless tethering, same as above, only wireless, still serves only one device. 3. Wireless mobile hotspot. Basically wireless tethering for multiple devices where the phone acts as a 3G modem and router. The only one that I can see paying for is #3 since it allows you to overuse your data plan, i.e. share it with others not already paying for the service. But if I'm already paying AT&T for data why should it cost more to use it in a different way?
  17. AT&T is high if they think they're going to get me to pay another $30 a month to use a data plan that I already pay for, just for the privilege of using that data on another device. For wifi hotspot use maybe, but obviously you aren't using the phone if it's tethered to something else so you're not double dipping their data plan.
  18. Even if all the devices on the heat sinks are on one side only I'd still do a symmetric chassis with heat sinks on both sides.
  19. I couldn't care less about flash but if some of the other reported features are true and actually supported by carriers (usb tether, wifi hotspot, wireless sync) then Apple will have some serious catching up to do.
  20. So I was speaking with a well known audio dealer today and in passing he mentioned that Stax recently dropped 90% of their US dealers, including himself. This strikes me as a very bad sign, especially when you couple it with the news out of the Kuboten camp that Stax parts even in the home country have been hard to come by (specifically some pads). Stax doesn't offer any "budget" headphones and all of them require a stax-specific amp so I wonder if they have been hit harder than most during the recent economic downturn.

    Canjam 2010.

Bummer aimless, but there will be other meets and we all understand that family comes first.

    Audeze LCD-2

My issue was with the shear size of them.

    Audeze LCD-2

I'll be curious to try these since I found the originals to be pretty uncomfortable, if nothing else.
  24. 98 yrs, that's a heck of a run. Rest in peace.
