I realized that I forgot to update this thread last week, I blame sleep deprivation. Andrew was discharged on schedule last Thursday morning and has been keeping mom and dad on their toes for the last 4 days. So far he's a champion sleeper during the day but not so great at night. Lily seems to be adjusting pretty well to the new presence in the house and is very cute with him. I'll get off my ass some time in the next few days and post a picture or two.

Great idea for a thread. One thing about where I work now that is not so great is the fact that I no longer get to seek out and track down new stuff.

Congratz Al. I did a 6 week program the summer before my senior year and it is still one of my fondest memories.

Yeah, it's down to the following choices: Cannondale - Synapse Carbon 6 Apex Cannondale - Synapse Alloy 5 105 Specialized - Secteur Elite Apex Specialized - Roubaix Elite SL2 Apex I've just about ruled out the Cannondales for their slightly more aggressive geometry, which I neither need nor want. So really it boils down to whether or not I want to pay for a carbon frame setup.

I'm after comfy and have no intentions of racing or riding competitively.

In an effort to be less fat I'm currently looking at a Specialized Rubaix.

I have the benefit of my notebook having two HD bays (without compromising the optical bay) so I could easily live with a smaller SSD OS drive and a larger, traditional drive for storage. In the end run I'd like to have a 128-SSD/1TB-7200 setup, but I'm currently too busy/lazy to change from the 500-XT/500-7200. I'm nowhere near capacity on either drive. A more pressing and annoying thing to deal with is a strong desire to have a better NAS/backup setup.

I haven't had any issues with mine and I'm still running the older, supposed to be problematic, firmware. On the flip side I will probably just go ahead and upgrade to a true SSD in the near future.

It was post-produced 3d and according to at least one review that I read, a terrible job of it. Also, as Dan said (and the reviewer noted) it's a dark movie and hurt by the 3d process as a result.

Reviews have lead me to believe that this is probably not worth paying theater prices for. But I'm guessing that you're taking the whole family so you gotta do whatcha gotta do.

If people bow out and this comes into jeopardy let me know, maybe I'll buy one afterall.

Things are in a holding pattern with Andrew. The moved him to a nearby NICU last night for no real reason other than the docs at the local hospital were out of ideas. I wish they'd made that decision before 11pm last night. But everyone that's seen him thinks it's just a little immaturity that he'll grow out of. The next 24/48 will hopefully prove that out. Thanks again for all the well wishes, some day this will be a minor anecdote.

If someone wants to pick up the torch I think I still have some parts and the boards but I can't swear to that.

Thanks everyone, he's been doing well since 10:00am so we're hopeful that the worst is already past.

#2 decided to show up 3 weeks early so as of 4:23 this morning I'm a dad for the second time. This go around it's a bouncing baby boy named Andrew. Mom is doing great and Andrew is doing well, with a few hiccups. On the fetal monitor during labor he was doing great but in the outside world he's have a bit of a rough go keeping his respiratory rate regular. I'm told this is not uncommon with semi-premature babies so we're all hopeful that it'll stabilize in the coming hours. Lily just met him for the first time and seems ok with the concept, I'll remain hopeful that her attitude won't seesaw too much about that (right).

Day 1 with the zeros was good, definitely better than the JVCs they replaced. I Kay not get much time with the in the near future but I think I made a good choice and will probably forgo other options for a while. Thanks for all the advice.
