  1. #2 decided to show up 3 weeks early so as of 4:23 this morning I'm a dad for the second time. This go around it's a bouncing baby boy named Andrew. Mom is doing great and Andrew is doing well, with a few hiccups. On the fetal monitor during labor he was doing great but in the outside world he's have a bit of a rough go keeping his respiratory rate regular. I'm told this is not uncommon with semi-premature babies so we're all hopeful that it'll stabilize in the coming hours. Lily just met him for the first time and seems ok with the concept, I'll remain hopeful that her attitude won't seesaw too much about that (right).
  2. Day 1 with the zeros was good, definitely better than the JVCs they replaced. I Kay not get much time with the in the near future but I think I made a good choice and will probably forgo other options for a while. Thanks for all the advice.
  3. Happy Birthday!!!
  4. The zeros are here and will be getting setup in the office tomorrow.
  5. As an engineer I am insulted.
  6. Honestly, I'd just get another incredible. With the exception of the original Droid everything pre-Incredible is not something that I'd want to own having owned a phone like the incredible. With the rash of new phones coming out you should be able to pick one up for ~$200 which isn't awful.
  7. Having just knocked back a couple exceptional margaritas I approve of this plan.
  8. I'll try that later, for some reason even with "Unknown Sources" checked I can't direct download either of those to my phone. And yes, I'm still rooted and running Liberty. From what I read Moto pushed by the official Ginger update at least two weeks so there's no reason to un-root and be stuck with the awful stock OS again. [edit] Just downloaded it via laptop, dragged it onto the phone and shazzam, Netflix.
  9. I put an offer in on the super 0's - I guess we'll see what happens. I still plan to be on the lookout for a pair of the focal sibs. Edit - Woot, offer for super zeros accepted!
  10. no go on the droid x.
  11. How? Also, would still love advice on the whole unroot, OTA update business.
  12. I've had stuff arrive at UPS sorting facilities only to sit for days because it got there too fast. Never had that happen with the USPS though, so I'd guess that Dan is right and that it's a problem no the receiving end (at the school) that is preventing you getting it sooner.
  13. Just caught that they are actives, not what I'm after but thanks. Steve, thanks for the offer but I'll pass on the Cambridge stuff. Mr. Butt, you'll have a Pm later.
  14. If that was the price for a pair I'd jump, but it's not. And Tyll, I think the Ions are out of my budget unfortunately.
  15. Hmmm, Focal still lists the Sibs on their website (or something with that name...) so I'll probably drop one of the official dealers a email to see if they exist anywhere stateside.
  16. I'll measure the space tomorrow, the Sib's look intriguing. Any thoughts on where they might actually be purchased? A quick google didn't yield much in the way of a traditional vendor.
  17. So I built the Jonokuchi for my office and it's working quite well. It's a very respectable headphone amp and currently I have it driving a small pair of JVC speakers that came from a defunct mini system. But as always, I want MOAR! But there's a counterproductive requirement, which is that they have to be small, really small. The JVC's are about 4" wide, 5" tall and maybe 8" deep. My space can support something slightly larger with width only being able to be pushed about 1" larger, depth is more flexible but probably doesn't need to be. Being the non-speaker expert that I am I figured I'd ask the masses here and see what suggestions folks could come up with. About all I've been able to manage is something on the order of the Boston Acoustics Micro 120x's or Gallo Micros.
  18. Somehow I missed this happy birthday guys.
  19. Happy Birthday Ari!!
  20. Outstanding!
  21. My experience with android devices is that the less tweaked the version of the OS you can get the better. My X is worlds better without Moto's bloatware, the G Tab was better (but still quite flawed for other reasons) without TnT and even my wife's Incredible has some curious software quirks. I just hope that Google eventually makes a phone for Verizon and releases their own tablet as well.
  22. Happy Birthday!
  23. Happy Birthday Shelly! Here's to hoping that May continues to be a much better month than April.
  24. Nice!
