I'll try that later, for some reason even with "Unknown Sources" checked I can't direct download either of those to my phone. And yes, I'm still rooted and running Liberty. From what I read Moto pushed by the official Ginger update at least two weeks so there's no reason to un-root and be stuck with the awful stock OS again. [edit] Just downloaded it via laptop, dragged it onto the phone and shazzam, Netflix.

I put an offer in on the super 0's - I guess we'll see what happens. I still plan to be on the lookout for a pair of the focal sibs. Edit - Woot, offer for super zeros accepted!

no go on the droid x.

How? Also, would still love advice on the whole unroot, OTA update business.

I've had stuff arrive at UPS sorting facilities only to sit for days because it got there too fast. Never had that happen with the USPS though, so I'd guess that Dan is right and that it's a problem no the receiving end (at the school) that is preventing you getting it sooner.

Just caught that they are actives, not what I'm after but thanks. Steve, thanks for the offer but I'll pass on the Cambridge stuff. Mr. Butt, you'll have a Pm later.

If that was the price for a pair I'd jump, but it's not. And Tyll, I think the Ions are out of my budget unfortunately.

Hmmm, Focal still lists the Sibs on their website (or something with that name...) so I'll probably drop one of the official dealers a email to see if they exist anywhere stateside.

I'll measure the space tomorrow, the Sib's look intriguing. Any thoughts on where they might actually be purchased? A quick google didn't yield much in the way of a traditional vendor.

So I built the Jonokuchi for my office and it's working quite well. It's a very respectable headphone amp and currently I have it driving a small pair of JVC speakers that came from a defunct mini system. But as always, I want MOAR! But there's a counterproductive requirement, which is that they have to be small, really small. The JVC's are about 4" wide, 5" tall and maybe 8" deep. My space can support something slightly larger with width only being able to be pushed about 1" larger, depth is more flexible but probably doesn't need to be. Being the non-speaker expert that I am I figured I'd ask the masses here and see what suggestions folks could come up with. About all I've been able to manage is something on the order of the Boston Acoustics Micro 120x's or Gallo Micros.

Somehow I missed this happy birthday guys.

Outstanding!

My experience with android devices is that the less tweaked the version of the OS you can get the better. My X is worlds better without Moto's bloatware, the G Tab was better (but still quite flawed for other reasons) without TnT and even my wife's Incredible has some curious software quirks. I just hope that Google eventually makes a phone for Verizon and releases their own tablet as well.

Happy Birthday Shelly! Here's to hoping that May continues to be a much better month than April.

On 9/11 I was in my office prepping to go to a ground breaking ceremony for a large project I was working on. I was on the phone with a client when she said, "Oh my god, a plane just flew into the world trade center." I clearly remember thinking that it had to be something like when that little plane crashed into the white house. Our office internet was horrible but I logged on and was viewing live news coverage when the second plane hit. The rest of the day is pretty blurry, it was a very quiet office, despite no one having any direct connection to people working in NY. What I remember even more vividly is a trip that I took just a little over a month later. At the time my brother and I had a tradition started of taking a yearly motorcycle trip together to a race within a few days ride. That year we swung through NYC to visit his roommate from Cornell, Brian. We met up with Brian and it wasn't till about mid-way through dinner that he just blurted out that he worked in the WTC, in one of the smaller towers. He proceeded to relay one of the most horrific stories I've heard. More than anything I remember him talking about how he just started walking, trying to find a way home, and how it took him something like 8 or 10 hours to figure it out. I later learned that the wife of a guy that I used to ride with a lot was supposed to be in NYC that day, for the opening of a new branch of the company that she worked for. Due to reasons I can't remember anymore she hadn't made it down that day. The branch of her company was in the upper half of one of the towers. The last thing that sticks out about my 9/11 experience is that I went fishing with my boss the Saturday after the tragedy, while all air traffic was basically still grounded. The sky was strikingly blue, in a way I don't think I've seen since, without a wisp of a cloud or contrail to be found. We both just stared at it for a while in horrible awe. As for Bin Laden and how this played out, I don't have much to say. I'm hopeful it'll mean less bloodshed.

Ouch, that sucks. I might now of a used one for sale if you end up looking for a replacement on the cheap.

That's pretty much been the prevailing rumor for a while now, it'll be interesting to see how they limit user's access to music and other "protected" content, if at all.

Mojito - not from scratch, but still good.

Better late .... Happy Birthday, Ryan!

Seconded, it's finally the device that I wish the SB3 had been years ago.
