Up for a drive to NJ? These seem absurd enough for the job. http://app.audiogon.com/listings/463047

And now what did you do TODAY?
Outstanding Mike. It's currently rainy and in the 40s on the East Coast, definitely not prime skiing weather.

Advice on new speakers: ~75% HT -- ~25% music
I really do appreciate how you go about problem solving, Shelly.

i'm on a roll... the kgsshv
Yup, the WES51 is my iron of choice as well. When I upgraded from my 936 I wanted something with an auto-off function. I've never had any issues with the '51 not being able to provide enough heat.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Mike, There was no snow on the ground until we were within 10 miles of the mountain, it was freaky. I'd bet that most other mountains in NH have virutally no real snow base, just whatever they've been able to make and maintain. Cannon is sort of a freak of nature, parked on the north side of Franconia Notch. Weather gets trapped up there and often is completely different from one end to the other. It was windy as hell on the south side but on was mostly calm until you got to the very top of the mountain. It's also a really steep mountain, 2100' of vertical in a short horizontal run. Look at a topo map if you're curious, this was about the best view that I could find.

And now what did you do TODAY?
As previously bitched about I worked all of Saturday and most of Sunday. But it was worth it since I finished the work a day early and was able to enjoy the holiday yesterday. Ian, who also was stuck working with me this weekend, and I decided to venture to northern NH in search of some actual (non-man-made) snow. Turns out that Cannon Mountain, in Franconia, has actually gotten some 7' of snow this year and the skiing was pretty fantastic. The upper, more technical portion of the mountain, was blissfully clear of Massholes.

I've long been a fan of paradigm if there is a dealer near you. I'd have a look at the studio 60 or 100.

Low Powered Amp for Speakers
If you don't need huge power these should work. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ICE-Power-50ASX2-Power-Amplifier-Bang-Olufsen-50-ASX2-/180663729671?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1065be07 IIRC those are the same modules that Headroom uses in their desktop speaker amps and they're pretty easy to wire and make go.

What are you listening to Part the Third
Metric - Fantasies Still a great listen, start to finish.

The nut is more isolated than the heat sink so I can't imagine how it'd be a problem.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Congrats Miguel. As for me, put in 9+ at the office, working from home now with the hope that 2 long days today and tomorrow will mean Monday off. About half-way done at 30 pages and by late tomorrow I'll be stuck waiting on information from two other evaluators that should have been transmitted Friday.

And now what did you do TODAY?
No, it's roughly the equivalent to writing a 60-80 page research paper.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Currently at work and will probably continue to be here for the next three days despite not being scheduled to work any of the three. The flip side is that it's $$, which is not a bad thing these days.

- DAC vs. Stats -- FIGHT
This. I'd wager the cables are about $600 overpriced.- And now what did you do TODAY?
Todd, if he gets it don't be fooled that it's over after 24 hours. Lily ralleyed yesterday and appeared fine for the first half of today but after her nap today she was back praying to the porcelin god. Andrew has unfortunately been pretty consistent in his need to get sick every night before bedtime but has at least been better during the day. And thansk for the well-wishes folks. I'm just achy and feverish (knock on wood) but this would be a really bad week to miss much time so I'm hoping that sleep will work wonders. - And now what did you do TODAY?
