About 6" so far with much more forecast today.
  2. The volume could be a shunted pot, right? No clue what they'd do for balance.
  3. If we're going on the assumption that 5 equates to an effective 10 given the balanced configuration then I revise my previous statement, having the low gain option set that high is unlikely to yield good results. I'm also not a fan of parking the outputs right next ot the power transformer. Where's the logic in that?
  4. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=mobile+phone+design+forum Get off your lazy ass.
  5. I'm confused, it looks like the choice is 5 or 10. I'd agree that 10 is stupid, but 5 is a gain number that I like a lot.
  6. Thanks Dan, I mistakenly looked at the 64 based on the price. $30 for that drive isn't enough of a deal to get me to pounce since it'd mean also buying a 1TB internal drive for the second bay in my laptop.
  7. Similar issue here, Lily's birthday is the 6th so I'll have to push to have the part the following weekend. And damn if Tyll and Justin are in town I guess I'll really have to make it happen.
  8. If that's the case I would try to get a little larger stick than 1GB in the first slot.
  9. This, just make sure that it's easily user servicable.

    Oh hell yes.
  11. Nice, Shelly. The ECD1 appears to work perfectly since it offers enough space for the GS-1 and headphone stand. I do think that you should talk to your lone-star friend about a proper headphone stand though...
  12. I'd take the price of a 307A over a 300B any day.
  13. Happy Birthday Naaman!
  14. Congrats!!!

I was mostly joking, I haven't heard anything in the class of amplification that you're shopping for.

Up for a drive to NJ? These seem absurd enough for the job. http://app.audiogon.com/listings/463047
  17. Everytime I see this thread pop up I think the Monkey is selling his DAC.
  18. Outstanding Mike. It's currently rainy and in the 40s on the East Coast, definitely not prime skiing weather.
  19. Steve, I could loan you a Nova for a while...
  20. Happy Belated, Young! Congrats on being near the end with school as well.
  21. A very happy birthday to you Dan.
  22. I really do appreciate how you go about problem solving, Shelly.
  23. Yup, the WES51 is my iron of choice as well. When I upgraded from my 936 I wanted something with an auto-off function. I've never had any issues with the '51 not being able to provide enough heat.
  24. Mike, There was no snow on the ground until we were within 10 miles of the mountain, it was freaky. I'd bet that most other mountains in NH have virutally no real snow base, just whatever they've been able to make and maintain. Cannon is sort of a freak of nature, parked on the north side of Franconia Notch. Weather gets trapped up there and often is completely different from one end to the other. It was windy as hell on the south side but on was mostly calm until you got to the very top of the mountain. It's also a really steep mountain, 2100' of vertical in a short horizontal run. Look at a topo map if you're curious, this was about the best view that I could find.
