  1. Correct. Not allowed to install anything.
  2. The link works fine for me on old-and-busted IE so I'd think it'd work for anyone.
  3. This.
  4. This. I'd wager the cables are about $600 overpriced.
  5. Todd, if he gets it don't be fooled that it's over after 24 hours. Lily ralleyed yesterday and appeared fine for the first half of today but after her nap today she was back praying to the porcelin god. Andrew has unfortunately been pretty consistent in his need to get sick every night before bedtime but has at least been better during the day. And thansk for the well-wishes folks. I'm just achy and feverish (knock on wood) but this would be a really bad week to miss much time so I'm hoping that sleep will work wonders.
  6. Currently laying on the couch looking for the truck that hit me. The flu has now kicked 3 of 4 asses in the house, not a fun weekend for this and other reasons.
  7. You can find the previous DAC discussion and other nonsense here -
  8. There is no way on this earth I'd recommend buying an R10. Unless you just happen to like pissing away thousands of dollars.
  9. In addition to the new year issue be aware that shipping will either take a long time or be pretty expensive. If they didn't need to mat or pairs would work I might be able to help.
  10. Sorry to hear that Dan, it's no fun. Hopefully Andrew is thru the worst of it. Poor little guy has just been a lump for the last 3 days (although sleeping, god bless him) but it finally hit Lily today and she's now a wreck and not able to keep anything including water down. It will not be good if I get it since I'm scheduled to work around 60 hours next week in support of award of 3 major projects. Here's to hoping it skips a generation.
  11. Came home to not one, but two puking kids. Shitty end to a shitty week.
  12. my comment was intended to be in the context of the ipad 2 providing an incredibly serviceable carry around media consumption device. That said I understand jeffs love of toys since I'm wired the same way. ultimately we'll have to wait and see what it is and what it costs.
  13. My excitement about it would be directly related to price. It's hard to imagine that they can hold the same pricing structure if the screen rumors are true and my guess is that we'll end up with two tiers of iPads each with their own set of price steps. That said, I don't know what would motivate someone to buy one if the price creaps up against the Air.
  14. Yeah, I read the bad news when the album came out. It blows.
  15. Don't sweat it. Any sane employer will tell you to stay home when you're sick rather than in fact the rest of the office.
  16. I've never had any success doing that being the photosoftware newb that I am but I agree, some sort of combined dynamic range image is the only way I see that composition providing any detail of moon. Otherwise the brightness of the moon is going to get blown out when you try to accurately expose the remainder of the frame.
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. Very nice build, congrat Steve.
  19. Ugh, I'm afraid that I have to revise this opinion. After listening all the way through several times I'm pretty disappointed. Generally the album strikes me as utterly forgettable. It just never gets going. Some songs start with great promise (the title track for one) but ultimately never deliver the same type of experience that other STS songs have for me. Other songs are borderline (if not outright) awful. The 2nd track, This Cut is the Deepest, is so weak that I regularly skip it and the opening line, "You're nothing but a shadow of the beauty what you used to be" is painfully ironic. Blech. In stark contrast the latest Draconian album, A Rose for the Apocalypse, is very good. My next hope lies with the upcoming Epica release due in March.
  20. I was being mostly serious. It's a highly-advanced pro-sumer body with features and specs that supercede the 300 in every respect that I can think of. The only thing that really needs improving upon would be the burst/continuous shutter speed and capacity, neither of which matters to me so I can't see spending 50% more for something like a 400. The only change that I want to make, but probably will never be able to afford, is the move to full-frame. In that vein the D700 is likely to be the last camera that Nikon makes that I'd want to own, the 36MP sensor on the D800 is a complete non-starter for me from a file-size-management perspective. I can't imagine what a RAW file would be like or the power needed to manipulate it.
  21. If you're up for building something you might have a look at whether or not the Simple SE boards are still available (or just PTP it).
  22. I think it's called the D7000.
  23. You're evil!
  24. Happy Birthday, Jeff!
