I've been enjoying cold brewed coffee for the last 3 mornings. What I need to do now is try it with better coffee...

Dan, Do you dilute the resulting "brew" anymore or just drink it straight up? I've got my first batch brewing now for tomorrow and I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll turn out ok.

It's supposed to be 85ish here tomorrow.

Yup. It kicks the pants out of my D80.

I had a grip for my D80 and I haven't really missed it on the 7k. Reports of issues with the 7k grip have certainly helped.

Well done, Dinny, that sounds like a good deal to me and either camera is way more capable than most would ever need. Even with the D7k I long for a full-frame body but it just isn't in the budget.

Dinny, From what I remember the 7k is supposed to have a better sensor and offer superior low-light performance as a result. But there are also ways in which the 300 could be considered superior. It kind of depends on how you'd use it. For me, I'd rather have usable higher-iso's and be able to avoid using a flash.

Thanks, I'm going to give this a shot soon since we're entering the season where drinking hot coffee is not desirable but the caffeine is required.

You're probably only talking about losing a couple hundred bucks over the year of ownership (regardless of capacity) so do you really care? Or in a different light - a decent percentage, maybe the majority, would argue that the 2nd gen is still plenty of tablet for most users. So if you bought a 3rd gen now, for what people were recently paying for a 2nd generation, and they improve upon the already ridiculously spec'd 3rd gen would you even need to worry about upgrading? I wouldn't.
