  1. Nice, Shelly. The ECD1 appears to work perfectly since it offers enough space for the GS-1 and headphone stand. I do think that you should talk to your lone-star friend about a proper headphone stand though...
  2. I'd take the price of a 307A over a 300B any day.
  3. Happy Birthday Naaman!
  4. Congrats!!!
  5. I was mostly joking, I haven't heard anything in the class of amplification that you're shopping for.
  6. Up for a drive to NJ? These seem absurd enough for the job. http://app.audiogon.com/listings/463047
  7. Everytime I see this thread pop up I think the Monkey is selling his DAC.
  8. Outstanding Mike. It's currently rainy and in the 40s on the East Coast, definitely not prime skiing weather.
  9. Steve, I could loan you a Nova for a while...
  10. Happy Belated, Young! Congrats on being near the end with school as well.
  11. A very happy birthday to you Dan.
  12. I really do appreciate how you go about problem solving, Shelly.
  13. Yup, the WES51 is my iron of choice as well. When I upgraded from my 936 I wanted something with an auto-off function. I've never had any issues with the '51 not being able to provide enough heat.
  14. Mike, There was no snow on the ground until we were within 10 miles of the mountain, it was freaky. I'd bet that most other mountains in NH have virutally no real snow base, just whatever they've been able to make and maintain. Cannon is sort of a freak of nature, parked on the north side of Franconia Notch. Weather gets trapped up there and often is completely different from one end to the other. It was windy as hell on the south side but on was mostly calm until you got to the very top of the mountain. It's also a really steep mountain, 2100' of vertical in a short horizontal run. Look at a topo map if you're curious, this was about the best view that I could find.
  15. As previously bitched about I worked all of Saturday and most of Sunday. But it was worth it since I finished the work a day early and was able to enjoy the holiday yesterday. Ian, who also was stuck working with me this weekend, and I decided to venture to northern NH in search of some actual (non-man-made) snow. Turns out that Cannon Mountain, in Franconia, has actually gotten some 7' of snow this year and the skiing was pretty fantastic. The upper, more technical portion of the mountain, was blissfully clear of Massholes.
  16. I've long been a fan of paradigm if there is a dealer near you. I'd have a look at the studio 60 or 100.
  17. If you don't need huge power these should work. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ICE-Power-50ASX2-Power-Amplifier-Bang-Olufsen-50-ASX2-/180663729671?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1065be07 IIRC those are the same modules that Headroom uses in their desktop speaker amps and they're pretty easy to wire and make go.
  18. Metric - Fantasies Still a great listen, start to finish.
  19. The nut is more isolated than the heat sink so I can't imagine how it'd be a problem.
  20. Congrats Miguel. As for me, put in 9+ at the office, working from home now with the hope that 2 long days today and tomorrow will mean Monday off. About half-way done at 30 pages and by late tomorrow I'll be stuck waiting on information from two other evaluators that should have been transmitted Friday.
  21. No, it's roughly the equivalent to writing a 60-80 page research paper.
  22. Currently at work and will probably continue to be here for the next three days despite not being scheduled to work any of the three. The flip side is that it's $$, which is not a bad thing these days.
  23. Congrat to Mike's daughter! (and you too Mike, you must be one proud papa today)
  24. A very Happy Birthday to you Steve.
