  1. Excellent sounding day, Dinny.
  2. Feel better Brent and Mrs. dreadhead.
  3. Happy Birthday tall man. Next year maybe I'll get to buy you a beer sometime around your birthday.
  4. Looking good for a 0-2 start...
  5. My experience with Doug's amps is kind of Grado-biased but I'd listen to what this guy has to say.
  6. Happy Birthday Deepak!
  7. Nice, Dan.
  8. Done, way to go Karen.
  9. Nice Raffy.
  10. Based on what I've heard, 16x9 near enough as not to matter. Previous aspect ratio was 960x640 (3:2) New = 1136x640 (71x40 or very nearly 16:9)
  11. Without doing much research I'd say either the HTC One X or Samsung Galaxy S III. I have no clue what the "next big thing" is going to be on Android and wouldn't worry. The both of the above have ludicrous specs/performance.
  12. I agree that by-in-large the current crop of non-iPhone small phones suck. The exception is perhaps the Droid Incredible II which is not significantly larger than an iPhone and easily handled by those with smaller hands (including my wife). I also tend to agree that there's little to no need for phones to have gotten as big as they have. My Galaxy S III is pretty huge, but tolerable and will probably only feel more at home in my hands over time. But I could have lived with the same type of design (little to no side bezel) with a smaller screen (say 4.5") and that might have been just about perfect. I disagree that the current iPhones (4S and 5) have a sufficiently large screen. Browsing the web in landscape on these phones is awful. Again, that's just my opinion. I also think they could have easily lived with a slightly lower dpi and simply stretched the dimensions and ended up with a great product. But I understand the flip side of that coin and why they didn't. I also still don't care for the way that Apple handles notifications, apps and the lack of customization. I think there are easy ways this could be improved upon and the longer they ignore it the more stupidly stubborn they look. And yes, I freely admit that they're making money hand over fist while I think they look stupid.
  13. Amanda Palmer Featuring the Grand Theft Orchestra - Theater is Evil
  14. Mike, I think you can lock the price for 30 days through Gazelle to give yourself a buffer to get the new phone. I can't see a good reason to replace the 4S, but see the logic moving on from the 4's. And the hassle incurred by actually selling the phones will easily be offset by the total and complete lack of hassle with Gazelle.
  15. I'm wondering if interest rates are going to go negative. The weird thing is that we're now getting to the point where refi is no longer a good choice as there aren't enough points to drop to offset the inevitable fees. 15yrs were already at 2.5 to 2.75, 30's at 3.5. By my math, to keep the payback to what I would consider reasonable you have to drop at least 1%. Time to call my mortgage broker and see if we can renegotiate the currently in progress refi (locked at 3.5).
  16. This. I do not miss the preliminary stages of relationships. Such a friggen rollercoaster.
  17. In that case the 600 does make a lot of sense. It will be interesting to see how the low-light perfornace between the 6 and 7 stacks up. I wouldn't read too much into it from just the pixel count given the outstanding performance that Nikon was able to get out of the 7000 despite the smaller sensor size. I'd still love to go FF but after speaking with a couple of professionals about it there's just no good reason for me to do so. I don't need the benefits that it could potentially provide and don't want the penalties that come along with it (often related to size/$$).
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. The D7000 would make a worthy upgrade to the 90 and wouldn't require rebuying glass.
  20. Sweet argument. Browsing in landscape is such a joy on the iPhone. They made great strides with the 5 in this regard. Wait, no they didn't. They showed everyone they're so in love with their resolution spec that they're willing to do dumb things to make they screen bigger in ways nobody wanted. The only good that might come from the 5 is a 16:9 iPad. That I might actually applaud. The 5 is the worst iPhone yet IMO. The 4s was and is great and if they made one with the A6 it'd be even better. I wouldn't want it, but would understand those that did. I still prefer android, flaws and all.
  21. The NEX6 appears to be seriously sweet.
  22. Shelly, I'm kind of with you. I didn't hear about the PPR thing till during the draft and still didn't really understand what impact it was going to have on scoring. I just didn't have time to follow this thread closely leading up to the draft unfortunately.
  23. Is it bad when the RB on your bench scores more than the 2 that you started (combined) Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
  24. The Pro Photog that covered the event uploaded some stuff late last night. Here's me, Marc and Tom at the start of Day 2.
