Not sure if you're already planning on chip extraction/suction but I'd highly recommend it. Also, if you can build an enclosure to help attenuate noise you'll be happier for it. I haven't managed an enclosure yet but the router is loud AF and I'm pretty sure we're running the same model. It's one thing to live with it for a few minutes during traditional router operation, it's another thing entirely to run it like that for hours straight.

No. Nope. Nuh uh. Not gonna do it.

Made the most of the early part of the day when it was just windy. The headed to the in-laws where it snowed briefly, but otherwise was pleasant.

Happy Birthday, Jeffy!

It is sightings like that, and similar ones that have occurred in my neck of the woods, that have me thinking that something like a bean bag shotgun wouldn’t be the worst thing to have around.

I submitted my donation on Sunday night. Did not feel good.

I'm probably way late to the game (as usual) but have been obsessed with a few tracks by Big Data lately. A favorite, Automatic.

100% home made dinner from last night: jalepeno poppers, mac and cheese, brisket, slaw, cornbread. The teenager took this to snap to her friends, so excuse the perspective, clipping, etc.

Yeah, Dave Grohl has to be gutted. On tour, in Columbia, do not look forward to the details surrounding this as it is hard to imagine they'll be happy.

While there are sources too numerous to cite for beans the fact is that some experimentation is required, at least for me anyway. One, some beans and their flavor profile simply do not work for espresso for me. Two, some suppliers are so inconsistent in what is available that there’s no way to have consistently good coffee (I have definitely found beans that I don’t like for either espresso or coffee). So for me it was about finding a reliable source with enough choices and supply that I know what I’m getting. Like every other vice in life (it seems) coffee has gotten radically more expensive in the last 10+ years and for me, my sweet spot is in the $15-$20/lb range with medium or darker roasts that are not depicted as “sweet” or “fruity”, generally speaking.

Greg, I looked into this a bit and it sounds like it could also be an issue related to your account. You might trying signing out of M$ (on the PC) and back in to see if that triggers anything. There are a few support articles related to this but not knowing the apps that you’re talking about and whether or not they were purchased direct from M$ or if you mean programs you downloaded/installed. Also, I think the start button and search function being offline point to a smoking gun internal to the Win10 shell, not hardware. http://woshub.com/start-menu-taskbar-search-not-working-windows-10/ If you haven’t tried some of the suggestions in that link, you might try. My bet is a corrupted registry key as that can turn the whole cart upside down and if you can get that to regen you might get back to a workable state. But I also find that when Windows has effed itself this badly the best solution is to grab all the data that you need from the HD, wipe, and start fresh.

Would be interesting to know if it’s corrupted hardware or OS that’s plaguing you, Greg. Any ability to pull the drive and try to mount it as an external and see if data recovery is possible? The fact that it’s just the apps that disappeared have me thinking more software than hardware.

Nope, not a bit. I can confidently say I currently consume 0 products on that list.

I’m sipping my first cup of this coffee this morning, made with my French press. Tastes fantastic, Dan. -
Happy birthday, Al. While there's NFLO there isn't anyone else like you either, bud.

@Augsburger - excellent choice to recalibrate using an alternative beverage.

@ktm - i feel your pain, almost literally. Yesterday, for the second time in six months I had the dryer almost fully apart. Midway thru: The last time I "fixed" it the problem was just that the belt had jumped the idler pulley. I did notice while I was in there that the belt had a good sized crack but the need to continue to do laundry trumped the need to fix everything. It's only about an hour to get to that level of disassembly. So when it started making a weird screeching noise last weekend I ordered a maintenance kit (belt, idler assembly, and some other misc. bits) for a whopping $40. Andrew and I started disassembling it yesterday around 8:30 and two hours later had a fully functioning, much better sounding, 12+ year old dryer.
