Yeah, yeah, I was just being equally douchey with the whole, "humid is faster" stuff.
I certainly sweat plenty this morning, but it was worth it.

Both true, but humid air is less dense so in truth, you should be faster (less drag)
And Boo, too bad you don't live closer. I hope to get 50 in tomorrow morning too. Should be interesting since like Jeff the forecast is for 90% humidity at 6am. Blech.
Mowed today so that I can ride early tomorrow. If all goes to plan I'll hit the road shortly after 5:30 before the temps start to really climb. It's currently 90 on the second floor of the house.
Did 24 effing hot miles today from our house over to see some friends. Thank god they have a pool - the average for the ride was 90F and i was predictably off my usual pace.
Raf really needs a new frame, unfortunately. The endurance road setup just isn't really suited to his style so I think it's probably just time to bite the bullet and get what you want, Raffy.
That's an impressive average to still be moving at 16mph. I'd guess I'd be a good 20bpm higher.
I really try to only look at it after a ride is over unless I'm trying to specifically make sure that I'm not over doing it. But more and more often I'm trying to just go out and ride at a pace that feels comfortable and not look at my HR or speed for the entire ride.
I guess I haven't really shopped SSDs recently so if they've gotten a lot better in $/GB ratios I see the logic. I also agree that I'd run a relatively small OS drive and leave bulk storage to the spinny drives until large capacity, affordable SSDs are the norm.
Yes, that's what I'd do. I guess what I was kindi of saying is that I don't get the point of the speed or expense of an SSD for a media server that is largely going to sit idle or have what I would assume to be really limited processing or read/write demands on a daily basis.
Those views do look nice, Mike. I can't wait to take a semi-vacation in a couple of weeks. I don't get to take the whole week off (change of command at work) but will be off most of the week thankfully.
Thanks, it's remarkable how much better I feel without that damn thing inside me.
And yes, the offending object was captured and will be turned into the doc today for further study (if necessary). Despite the lithotripsy the stone appears to have come out nearly whole. I took some quick measurements (turn away if you're squeemish) and it's a little over 1/4" (~6.5mm) long and at it's widest about 5/32" (4mm) in diameter. Not small.
Lesson - I will be drinking a lot more water for the foreseeable future.
^^^ Nice.
Me - apparently just passed a kidney stone. It was...not pleasant, but far less painful than having it in my kidney. I've been feeling pretty marginal for the last 5 days or so and wonder if this wasn't at least part of the cause.
