A very happy birthday to you, Dan. May today (or someday soon) find you on the water or doing something else that you enjoy.

Starting yesterday, drove about 120mil north to visit Al and Steve since I’d managed to make it all the way to the left coast and seemed a shame to not close the gap all the way. Had excellent drinks and dinner with the two of them and Claire last night, followed by breakfast this morning after viewing some (smallish) redwoods. Then decided that I should probably take the long way “home” back to Monterey so took Rt1/PCH stopping for a walk and a few photos on the way.

I’m even later than Stretch, although perhaps in fairness I’m traveling and haven’t been online since Sunday. All those excuses out of the way, a very happy birthday to you Jeff!

Got up at 3:30AM to get to Boston to catch a plane. Next stop, left coast and the Navy Post Graduate School.

Are you running a dehumidifier, Jeff? If not, might be worth trying to see if it helps even if it is unlikely to cure the issue. I know my shop, without the DH running, goes through huge swings of humidity. Given the heat/coldsink that most tools represent they attract condensation like crazy which is likely the cause of some of your rust problems.

This thread goes dormant for too long. Winter has finally (sort of) arrived here in NH. We got enough so along with the rain to create some pretty rideable conditions. Had a blast out there for an hour or so today.

Same Jim, power kicked out here around 8pm last night when a second cell went thru and hit us with some crazy gusts for a bit. Lots of trees down which made going to pick up the kids quite the adventure. Still no power here which makes this one of the longest outages we've had since we bought the house (11+hrs). Everything is ok for now, both fridges powered, house mostly heated, etc. But the temps dropped like a rock over night (from 50 to 10F) so things are going to be wickedly frozen out in the world. Here's to hoping the power comes back on soon. I'd prefer not to attempt to cook Christmas breakfast on a single burner.
