  1. Wuhoo! I'd prefer to draft after 8pm but that may not be possible.
  2. Sadly neither are Prime Eligible, I'm probably over thinking this decision.
  3. I need a quick suggestion for some replacement tubes since my flat this week has left me with fewer spares than I like to keep around. Amazon seems to have a plethora of options and I'd like to place an order through them so that I know I have the tubes before the century next weekend.
  4. That is absurdly large.
  5. Have fun you guys!
  6. ^^ Approve! Me, very shortly... Neko Case - The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You
  7. I needed to dispense with some stress after a long 4 days at work so I took off at the end of the day and headed for the only mountain nearby, which is about 18 miles away. I was cranking along happily until about mile 16 when I hit a sharp bump and the back end started to feel, uh, soft. So I pulled over in front of a house that happened to have two overturned recycling bins in the front yard and changed my first flat on the bike with the use of the makeshift work benches. I extracted a tiny metal shard from the tire which was the cause of the delay. Not a big deal - I had a tube, pump and backup CO² (not needed) so twenty minutes later I was back on the road and headed for the climb. In the end it was a minor incident and the only bummer was that it made me later than I wanted to be getting home and didn't allow for as much in the way of stress relief.
  8. I haven't even gotten to try any of mine yet.
  9. Happy birthday, Jack!!
  10. This.
  11. Wuhoo! More pics, we need more pics!!
  12. Happy vacation, Vicki!
  13. Vicki, not that it matters, but I'm not a white bike guy and I like that an awful lot. What is it getting for wheels?
  14. No bats last night, yay! Boo, getting yelled at by Admirals today. Let's hope I can escape at 4 for a much needed decompression ride.
  15. I don't think that they would work since the heat sinks are already tapped for 4-40.
  16. I need non-conductive, heat resistant screws, preferably peek. Pan head preferred for mounting TO-220 parts, drive doesn't matter.
  17. I need a couple of 4-40 by 3/8 (ish) screws for a project, anyone have a couple that I could buy? I'd rather not drop $70 on a bag of 100 right now.
  18. Adrian, good deal man. A century is doable in that time frame assuming you pace yourself, eat right and it isn't some crazy ride with 10,000 vertical feet in the 100 miles. Just start at reasonable distances, which given your fitness level is probably in the 15 mile range. You'll probably gain strength pretty quickly and soon 40 to 50 miles won't feel like all that much. After that 100 is just pushing yourself a bit harder. Most organized centuries have 4 to 5 stops built in which makes them all the more doable. I wouldn't recommend an unsupported century unless you're riding with a group of friends. Boo, so psyched for you I can't stand it. I imagine you're bouncing off the walls like a kid on Christmas eve. Me - barring the third week in a row of bat invasions on a Wednesday night (did I just curse myself of what) I'll be hitting the one big hill around here tomorrow after work with a good friend and fellow Team Big Guy member. Should be a nice, but hot ride. Temps are supposed to creep up on 90...
  19. There was no wind this morning so I decide to see what I could do on the way in. 20.4 miles, 59:49. It felt good and I'd say I was pushing 90% plus pretty much the whole way without every really going to 100%. I took it a bit easier on the way home but had a funny little drafting experience. I got passed by a small dump truck right before a hard right hand turn. He took the turn and I decided to see if I could hang on his rear bumper for a nice flat section of the ride. I only managed it for about a minute before we hit a small hill and I decided not to go for broke but cruising a 30+ in his draft for a quarter mile or so was FUN. It really made me wonder what riding in a big paceline would be like. Marshall, that looks interesting but the nose of the seat definitely looks odd. I'm itching to try a new saddle but I think before I do I'm going to get a full/proper fit session done on my bike. Even after raising the saddle last week I think I probably should be even higher and I'm not sure that my fore/aft positioning is really correct either. I'll probably wait until after the century ride since I'm pretty comfortable as is and don't want to be fiddling with that before such a major undertaking. I also don't really know the first thing about how to even go about selecting a different saddle. I know I need to measure my sit bones to get an idea of the width to shoot for but other than that it seems like no better than a 50/50 chance of liking a new saddle any better than the old one. I also don't know what a reasonable life expectancy is for a saddle. By the end of this season I'll have 4,000 or so on my current saddle.
  20. Is this the Topeak that folks are referring to? http://www.amazon.com/Topeak-Aero-Wedge-Buckle-Medium/dp/B000FIAU8O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377022234&sr=8-1&keywords=topeak+medium
  21. I feel like I don't even know you anymore.
  22. What does it say on the back cover?
  23. Do we have a date for the draft? I can't keep up with the internets these days.
