NICE! I'm super jealous, it was 20 here today with gusts up to 50mph. Safe to say that I did not ride. Oh and there was snow on the ground this morning...

Yikes, Ric. That kind of thing will definitely mess with you for a bit. Enjoy the season, Wayne. It snowed just a dusting here last night so the kids are starting to think in those terms which will make for a lot of fun times this year. Andrew wasn't quite old enough to really get it last year but should be a terror at unwrapping this year.

Yeah, I can't imagine ever investing serious $$ in a universal when the custom will be better in every respect save for resale value which shouldn't be high on the list of considerations when making a purchase like this anyway.

It might be easier to just use perf-board if the pin spacing matches up. Otherwise I'd just neatly air wire it and not worry about pcbs.

Shelly, I'll check at home tonight. I may have some of the exact wire that you're looking at and can send you some to play with. One other option to consider if you buy jacketed cables like the two types that you are proposing is to strip the jacket and shield, a semi-cumbersome activity, and then sleve the wire with nylon multifilament. I can help with that too since I have spools of the stuff left over from the Nugget Audio days.
