  1. There's an alarm, this idiot just missed it. I was late getting home and in the rush just missed it. Lesson learned. Really I'm just hoping that it'll restart this afternoon without a jump since the aforementioned idiot didn't pack jumper cables.
  2. It was definitely a morning.
  3. I've actually been enjoying the heck out of the HD800s lately. They definitely sound better to me off an amp with a less than nero-zero output impedance and actually sound much better with pretty high output impedance.
  4. Both of those images are awesome, Ari.
  5. Very cool. Me: yesterday - evidently I left the lights on in the car when I was rushing to get home. Today - it took me 2-1/2hrs to get my car started. Awesome.

That would, uh, clearly be acceptable.
  7. Todd, that's pretty awesome and local (for us). I might have to drop them a line.

FYI - I operate and maintain a home for wayward passive studio monitors.
  9. We got somewhere between 24 and 30". I cleared another 12-16" off the driveway this morning and we'll be good for at least 24 hours till the next storm on Friday. Oh, and then there's another one forecast for Monday that's already looking like it'll deliver another 12" or so. Two weeks ago it rained and my entire lawn was bare. By this time next week we might have 4'+. Jebus help us. And you can't efficiently flip the bird while wearing mittens so that was just the thumbs up sarcastic option.
  10. Craig, Not that it matters terribly but I think Namaan is in TX, or thereabouts. The LX-Mini looks like a really cool project but I've got one half-finished speaker project in the shop already. Maybe next year.
  11. But he is! Not able to be seen, 1964 V3s. Essential equipment for snow clearing activities.
  12. It's pretty fluffy. Too damn cold to be heavy snow, thankfully. The power outage risk is from the wind, which is supposed to pick back up later. Sections of MA (the Cape) are already pretty well screwed. My wife's school just cancelled for tomorrow as well. I think most are thinking that cleanup is going to take a while and I don't disagree. Commence round one with the driveway!
  13. Hard to say how much we got overnight because of the wind but I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of 12" and it's still raging outside. Pictures don't do it justice and sadly, the GoPro didn't capture anything in timelapse mode last night. The storm didn't really get cranked up until after 2AM from what I can tell and that's when the battery went tits up. I'll see if I can get it setup today with a aux battery to help.
  14. Looks cool, thanks.
  15. I'll be getting gas for the generator this afternoon for sure. I'm also strongly considering grabbing a camp stove on the way home. Been meaning to for a while and this might be the perfect excuse. Even with the generator we can't run the stove (just microwave) and having a usable cooktop, even if it was in the garage, would be nice.
  16. Awesome, Chris. That's got to be a relief one, to not have to show it and two, to know that it is done with.
  17. Impressive work, Craig. If you want to make them a bit more "idiot" proof on top of the already excellent color coding it wouldn't be a horrible amount of work to change the jacks to use 3, 4 and 5 pin XLRs so that truly one cable only works with the correct jack.
  18. Here we go... woke up this morning to temps in the low single digits. The wind hasn't started yet but is predicted to be 15-25mph with gusts over 40 by the end of the day. Oh, and there's this.
  19. It is somewhat amazing to me that you described a burger where I don't know what 50% of the ingredients are. Looks fracking delicious.
  20. Amen to that, Naaman. Oddly (and thank god) one of the few things that the kids generally eat well is Mexican dishes. And raw veggies. My son would rather crush carrots and red peppers than eat mac and cheese most nights. He's something.
  21. Made Alton Brown's Enchilada Lasagna tonight. It was very good and bonus, the kids ate it too (mostly without complaint).
  22. Imogen Heap - Sparks
  23. Holy shit! This certainly brings a smile to my face.
  24. Shit, Peter, that sucks. x2 on the hope that insurance gets you back close to whole.
