i haz a sad instead of reading carl's post about sizes, i assumed woot shirt size compliance and ordered two 2xl shirts in blue and red. as awesome as the shirts are, they are far too big for me. i doubt even a wash and a shrink will bring them down to wearable size. as such, if anyone finds their xl too small and would like to jump up a size, we can trade shirts. if no trades, then how about $20 for the pair? i love the shirts - particularly the colors (was expecting bright obnoxious blue and red but the ones i saw were excellent) but id rather someone else wear the shirts than they sit in my closet.

been loosely following this thread. i was for the past few months using this - Amazon.com: Wenger Slim Case for Lenovo: Electronics recently sister made claim to it this break. now i am left without a laptop case. i could just get it again - it is cheap enough and functionally i havent come across something that fit my current needs perfectly for the next semester. just enough room for my laptop, battery and a few pens/odds and ends. with the new program i am about to start in the college of business, part of me feels the need to grow up and dress appropriately. a nicer laptop bag might be in order. dont know if i want it to have oodles of space but it should certainly be able to hold a laptop and a charger. i feel that i will probably not get a mba simply because i see a lot of c++, mathematica, bloomberg and other math/programming stuff ahead and i dont think i will have the time to figure it all out on the fly with macs. leaning more towards an ipad now - easier to read on the train/bus etc. both boston or pittsburg/nyc will require long commutes. ipads seem to be the weapon of choice with most current students i have spoken with. almost all have thinkpads for serious work and ipads for reading bloomberg/wsj and other news related stuff. so i guess id like to get something that can hold my 14" thinkpad and perhaps an ipad. dont really take anything else on the go with me that doesnt fit in my pockets. most of my textbooks are in pdf format so dont need to carry those. occasional paper needs to be carried but i doubt that will be any trouble. budget is ~$200. minimal weight would be most preferred. aesthetics wise, black = good or dark leather. nothing more than like 2-3 zippers.

anyone know how much a used canon 500d both (probably no warranty) with everything in the box included with roughly 5000 actuations could sell for. someone in my office from china wants to sell the body and upgrade. he asked me but i have no clue. figured i would ask here. camera is in fairly good shape.

just blew the piss out of my 2 hour cmu interview (in a good way) -- they asked some pretty hard questions =/. hope i get in. as much as i would like to go back to mit, cmu has the oldest financial math phd program and the most recognized brand name on wall street and with investment banks.

i did consider the mbp but the only issue was the weight. i already have something ~5lbs (bag included) that i would like to leave in my office. wanted something light but after pricing out how much a decent 13" mba will be, i may very well go with the 11" or the mbp. will try to get to best buy sometime soon and see these things in person.

mom gave mba to sister so dont have access to that anymore. i dont think 11" vs 13" will make much of a difference to me. i had a netbook for about a day once - stupid thing formatted the drive every time i restarted it so it was returned to woot. the keyboard felt very cramped. i have a feeling the same will result of the 11". 13" it is. going to wait until after school starts again in 2 weeks and i get a paycheck and then get the 13" mba. will see if the local best buy has the 13" model with both processors on display to see if i need the faster processor. i really do like the s95. just discovered the "custom" tab. been playing around with all the different effects. camera takes some nice black and white pictures.

dusty, im still up overall roughly $12k since i started. i stopped playing the big 7-15 games a long time ago. didnt have the stomach for the swings. walk away with 6k one night and lose 9k the next. now just play 1-2 for fun. hell the poker games paid for my honda civic (which was then given to my mom :facepalm: ) but i am sure i have a gambling problem. but i did call 1800admitit. wonder if their blocks really do anything.

my issue with them doesnt even come close to that kids but it does show a marked lack of caring on their part even for the small things. i was told a cleaning tool would be sent with the jh16s i ordered a while back. didnt get one. sent them an email about it and they said i could purchase it. it was just 3 bucks so i didnt make a stink about it. ordered it about a month ago and still havent received it. sent two emails so far with no reply. will try the phone once the holidays are over. that fucking blows (re. the hf kid).

now i am really done with poker. i was up ~$335 on a 1-2 which is pretty damn good for an hours worth of playtime. i get KQ (spades) guy bets $12. i call. flop comes K (club), Q(club), 2(spade) guy bets $30. i raise to $60. he goes all in. i think, i call. turn comes 4(spade) river comes 8(spade) i have king high flush. he wins the pot with A3(spades). what the fuck he was doing in that hand i have no fucking clue. times like these i hate trust fund babies who can just blow money out of their ass and not get affected by the outcomes. currently eating 5 guys comfort burger.
