I have the same focal lengths as well. Zeiss 35/2 and 50/1.4 but like the 35 much better. The bokeh out of the 50/1.4 is considered nicer but I don't like it as much. I am trying to see what all the hoopla is about with the defocus control lenses. FF is certainly the way to go. -

Julie is never allowed on my phone again. I am in love with my d800. The full frame viewfinder coupled with dedicated buttons for iso, wb, bracketing are addicting. Still don't know how to use bracketing but learning. I find myself using the 35mm lens almost exclusively so the 50mm is FS. But the body is beautiful. It's heavy and bulky but I never got perfectly nice shots at ISO 2000 on the nex rig. -

Antonio, it is entirely possible to purchase the body stateside and mail it over to you if it results in a nicer gift. -

Reks, there was a police officer sitting there with a radar gun. He asked me why I was stopping there and asked to see my camera before I took pictures there but then he was very nice once he realized I wasn't causing any trouble. -

Chris, I have been poked hundreds of times and more than half blood has been drawn but the pencil is just so perfectly weighted, it seems like a shame to make the tip retractable. It's the perfect weapon as is. To write and to fight. However, with a small person around the house with you, i dont know if it would be safe. I've had mine for over 10 years now. People still ask how I get by with just 2 pencils and not lose them.

I sent it back and got one from best buy but it didn't come with the yellow card. I went to return/exchange it and they said they would charge me a 15% restocking fee as I didn't say there was something wrong with it. I don't want to lie about it but I don't want to keep a camera that I can't get serviced if needed. Especially when it costs $3000. -

For those with Nikon bodies who have sent them in for servicing. Does one HAVE to have the yellow warranty paper or just the original proof of purchase? I keep reading different things online. -

A very good one at that. I read and believed the whole thing until I got to the very end. -
Anyone else catch the season opener? I found it to be just fluff. Maybe it was just a set up for the rest of the season but didn't really see anything happen.

Didn't know I could rent tripods. Well I would like to use one between now and July as I find myself with a little more time on my hands. So rental for that long wouldn't make sense. I tried making a makeshift tripod with a gorillapod and a cooler and some of my textbooks, and while cheap, it wasn't all that convenient or effective. Especially when you are walking to the beach. -

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced tripod/ball head? Should be able to take on a d800/d600 and a 15/2.8 or a 35/2 lens (nothing long) and maybe a 50/1.4 but I don't know if I will keep it long. Will be taking it with my to cedar point, mount Zion the Grand Canyon so something sturdy would be better. Also since it will be sitting around outside strapped to my camera bag, resistance to water damage is a must as it will decidedly get soaked. I don't mind spending more money right now if the gear retains its value so I can sell it after the Grand Canyon and mount Zion trips. Thanks -

Cool if it actually works... "Panasonic has developed a unique technology that doubles the brightness of color photography, by using micro color splitters instead of conventional color filters in the image sensor." http://www.diginfo.tv/v/13-0021-r-en.php -

Sons of anarchy. 2 seasons in a week. Show is not what I normally watch but seemed interesting enough right off the bat. Also, Plebs. Funny as hell comedy set in Ancient Rome.

Maybe something was wrong with my d7000 or maybe things were less noticeable on the smaller viewfinder but things always looked the same to me regardless of the f stop. Looking through this vf has been a revelation. -

Adorama is closed until April 3rd so can't do anything about it. Took a few shots of the sky outside and the sensor is dirty as hell. No oil spots - just dust bunnies all over. Turned the camera over and found a very strong imprint of a tripod head. The body is definitely going back. It is amazing to actually be able to focus with manual glass using the viewfinder. Things actually go in and out of focus. Was never able to notice it in the D7000.
