  1. Welsh Rarebit. (Not rabbit, Steve.)
  2. Neill Blomkamp's new short. Obviously I'm in the tank for a(ny) South African Sci-Fi director, but will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere.
  3. PS: That's from John Cleese not me. Just seemed apropos.
  4. Third Eye Blind -- S/T (20th Anniversary Edition) Oh the memories. Plus it has my jam on it.
  5. The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have therefore raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross." The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let’s Get the Bastards.” They don’t have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.
  6. It's a portobello mushroom you philistine. [emoji6]
  7. You wot mate? Continuing the farewell breakfast tour -- the usual at Côte. Mmm, boudin noir ...
  8. Terrible. An absolute scandal. Yesterday was not a good news day anywhere.
  9. * files away for future reference *
  10. I'd probably go for the slower processor and more RAM.
  11. Por que no los dos?
  12. Have to rec this again because it's just so damn good. Bleachers -- Gone Now

  17. Need to call it because the rest of the install will happen in the meantime and speaker placement depends on the dimensions of the set. Going with ribbon tweeter Monitor Audio in-wall LCRs and two Triad in-wall subs. Will look something like this ... Surround channels will go back to the existing in-ceiling speakers, which isn't ideal but does keep everything clean in what is more a living space than a dedicated media room. Should be pretty sweet.
  18. Bit of a bummer, delivery of the 77" LG OLEDs has been pushed back into July and could slip further. Likely having yield issues in production, my AV guy says. Choices are -- wait it out, get a 75" Samsung QLED or (shudder) drop down to the 65" LG, which is not in short supply.
  19. Phoenix -- Ti Amo Is gud pop ya.
  20. My opinion, for what it's worth, is it depends mostly on input. Are you going to need to type screeds on it? If not, go for the tablet.
  21. I agree this is now a close call that very much depends on the use case.
  22. Ayy, Elon knows what's up!
  23. That makes me feel a bit better, because I also enjoyed them at the NY meet.
  24. There will still be a proper, expandable tower Mac Pro coming later, apparently. HomePod I'm just not sure about. Going to stick to Sonos for the moment for distributed audio. Maybe as the assistant portion of the thing matures?
