Sure, why not. I've dealt with enough xenophobia/racism from all sides to pretend it isn't a big deal, and enough deaths of people close to me to find jokes like this humorous. Wayne certainly has reason to come to a similar conclusion and he doesn't, so that's that. I'm out.

And why would I forward a joke I think is offensive to them, to them? I don't joke about my friends in real life being killed in any way, including the ones from this site.

Just the idea of there being anything close to only 12 legal citizens in LA for said hypothetical "extremist Muslims" to kill, or even that there are more illegal citizens than legal is--while the point of the joke--just flabbergastingly wrong. I can count at least 12 citizens I know that live or have lived there, none of whom I wish to imagine killed by Muslims. I agree there is some serious need for immigration reform, which has been a long time coming, but let's be honest: there is widespread corruption going on throughout our government, from top to bottom, and most politicians are far more concerned about getting reelected by constituency than anything else. The hilarious gerrymandering of my home state MD is certain proof of that. The Latino vote is very influential especially in the aforementioned states with high concentrations of illegals, which means an understandable but unforgiven lack of passed legislature. There are so many important issues at hand like the passing of the Monsanto bill, immigration reform, and, until Rand Paul made his stand, the checks and balances afforded to the executive branch by the Constitution, that have been swept under the rug while such little progress has been made debating at length the amelioration of US debt and gun control laws. As to what I think about the debt and raising taxes, I think this article speaks for itself: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/mar/21/pentagon-handed-out-419-million-in-improper-travel/

As a person with many relatives and friends who are not caucasian and are legal citizens that live in and/or are from Los Angeles, I disapprove of the above. Well actually I don't really care, it's just not humorous.

For those of you with S3s, would you recommend getting a case? I don't like carrying extra bulk, but not as much as I don't like having a cracked screen. I've been using my current phone (HTC evo 3d) with only a screen protector and it has held up just fine. Also, has anyone tried Solavei? The strange ponzi-esque pricing sounds both enticing and sketchy. "Get Your Mobile Phone Service for Free It's simple: for every 3 people you directly sign up for mobile service, Solavei pays you $20 per month. That means by signing up just 9 people, you're earning $60 per month - more than the cost of your monthly phone bill."

Let's just call it a failed business venture and leave it at that. I have too much on my plate these days to have to think about that catastrophe, which instantaneously gets the blood boiling.

Try unloading a 3500lb screw machine out of a cargo truck by hand, < 3 hours before you have to get to the airport. While it's raining. Yes we ended up missing our flight.

Or moar whiskies. One bottle isn't anywhere near enough for proper listening.

Been dealing with some of the worst human beings in existence these past couple of months, with the potential sellers of the condo we were about to buy. Unethical, thieving, lazy cunts who will do anything to make a quick buck, especially if it means lying and stomping on others and taking a fuckload of time to do it. A true gleaming turd in the cesspool that is NYC real estate.

I got a gif for that vid, too:

So as an update, T20v2 bolded text indeed does sound different from non-bold text version. Less bass, sounds more or less flat but on the slightly warm side stock, whereas the non-bolded version bass overemphasis is hard to get rid of even with heavy damping and midrange is very forward. Edit: Pics for reference (not mine): Bold Non-bold (Colin's)

External USB battery
mypasswordis replied to Dusty Chalk's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Depends on what you're willing to carry around, I guess. A giant battery brick isn't very portable, but then again neither is the Note imo. There's plenty of third party battery vendors, and really you might even be able to make do with just a USB car charger, as more portable options. -
Also agreed, and I think the T50 sound could be improved further with more tweaking. If my memory serves correctly, my previous T40v1 sounded better than the current one (there was a gap between my owning the two). It's weird because the old one was more worn whereas this one is pretty mint. Hopefully will find out soon if I track down my old pair and try swapping pads. I haven't really bothered exploring mods with this one though, just slapped on a single layer of felt and ripped off the foam pucks. Re: Antonio, not sure about the T30 but the T10 and T20v1 are easy to open and mod/recable. Just don't keep the soldering tip too long on the driver tabs. The bass potential of the large driver orthos is pretty awesome.
-
Awesome that you found a modding scheme that works. Did you see Tyll/Innerfidelity's measurements of scompton's modded T30? Very good stuff. You should hear the T10 too at some point. Shockingly good stock, must've blown pretty much everything else away in SQ back in the day except Stax (and the T50 ).
-
This is true, but I think Fostex were better about their driver tolerances than Yamaha. The Fostex orthos were aimed more at the pro/studio market and so were built more solidly in general. I at one point owned 3 different pairs of T20v2, and one of them had bold text on the cups compared to the other two and sounded different. As you said, age and environment probably contributed to the variation in sound, they seemed to also have been worn a lot more and the earpads seemed a bit different. The fourth pair I just bought has the bolded text and also seems to have the slightly different earpads. The T40v1 I have sounds different than the one I had before as well, but the earpads were in different conditions as well. Edit: What did you think of your T40v1? Great, I'm not in a hurry to find a T50 as they're at least as rare as hen's teeth but will keep it in mind.
-
Bumping for the lolz. Acquired Fostex T10, T20v1, T20v2, and T40v1, so now sort of looking for an original T50 or T50 OEM variant to complete the set. The T30 auction that just ended went way higher than I expected, so I'm giving up on that for now. I've been suspecting for years that there are different sounding variants of the T20v2 and T40v1, which I think should be resolved relatively soon.

WAT. Acoustic Revive makes the RGC-24 (of Patrick fame), fuck yeah.
