  1. Nice, real porn. Too bad she looks like a total slut with self-respect issues on the Bach cover. Here's a more fitting pic:
  2. It's not fair to hide your face behind porn... then anything will sell. But he's looking like a total creeper.
  3. Using my SRD-6SB off the headphone outs on receivers... heavy distortion and sounds like there's some kind of low pass filter. Sounds horrible.
  4. Both sides the same. Sorry, I'm not good at carrying over plurals, sometimes. One ring of blutak each. Edit: Listening to Angel (Massive Attack) = much ear-massaging bass.
  5. I just put thin rings of blutak on my SR-X between the metal ring and the plastic baffle, around the driver screens. I think I've inadvertently created a bass reflex design (there's probably a hole in the rings) because I'm getting MOAR BASES and the highs are slightly less brash than before. I don't know why, but I feel like the sound is a bit more polite now, too. Not sure if that's a good thing.
  6. ^ Is he achieving a state of Martian ecstasy from the ZDT? I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but if anyone needs LCD1 frame replacements: Amazon.com: Nady QH 560 - Headphones ( ear-cup ): Electronics
  7. I prefer this one for that purpose:
  8. I lol'd. Might seem shallow of me, but I do NOT want to look like that, which is turning me off a bit from the LCD-2.
  9. Anyone think the driver is still only 4 ohms with a series resistance? And I wonder what's better, velour or the Denon pads.
  10. Repent and make things right by buying an LCD-2 and driving it with your F5.
  11. It's not dynamic, it's balanced armature. The 4 dB hump allows people to plug the JH 13 into their DAPs and have it sound good, since it corrects their bass roll-off. I didn't expect the Hifiman to also exhibit roll-off, since it's damn expensive and can only be used to play music.
  12. I prefer to just break the packaging open all fast and see if the crumbs land on anything interesting in the vicinity. If the big pieces stay in there I call it a good day.
  13. Uh, you still running it from the E/90?
  14. HD800 is technically vastly superior to K701 and HD650. It's more like why you would get your K701 recabled with gold-platinum-alloy-plated silver instead of getting a stock HD800.
  15. Hey, I need that! Er, I mean, I don't know what you're talking about
  16. I actually chuckled when I first saw that. You'll love this pic of the pulley system in the 1020, which was a model or two further up in the range:
  17. Sounds like a good plan. My plan is to rob a bank with a squirt gun spray-painted black and a couple stink bombs, which I think will end up quite badly.
  18. Picking up one of these tomorrow:
  19. The start of what could be an interesting thread, over on the other site (and proof they are at RMAF): Head Direct Magnetic Planar Cans Rock! - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
  20. It's the planar sound, you know you can't escape it. So good, so right... so realistic. My mouth now waters over the LCD-2 and Head-Direct orthos. And as to the Head-Direct orthos, I don't know when they are coming out, but they are listed under Head-Direct on the RMAF website: Rocky Mountain Audiofest 2009 Here's a pic: What headphones are these? (head-direct) - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
  21. So, how's DAC rolling going for you? Elephas, what's wrong with the Headphile Lambda Pro when it isn't driven by the BHSE?
  22. Great job at trolling! You almost had me, for a moment.
  23. x2 I'm glad you agree that most headphones roll off in the treble. Also, being able to hear up to 20kHz FTW. The way you describe the stock LCD1 makes it sound similar to an underdamped T20v2. Actually, throwing a ton of damping at it just cleans up the bass but the mids are still quite forward, and made focused by the damping. How exactly did you recess the mids in your mods again? ---- In regards to the LCD2, I'm about to say fuck the SR404 LE and save up for the new ortho instead, although I may have to wait to compare to the Head-Direct ortho since now the prices are comparable. I have too many 'stats and not enough things that aren't 'stats.
  24. Damn that's awesome I need more cheerful music, most of the stuff I listen to is quite emotionally draining.
  25. Agreed. I didn't know that they were overstuffed because I'm not that familiar with Denons/Lawton but can see that the pads do look quite stuffed now. Hopefully that means it is easy to open them up and make the pads angled ourselves, if they aren't already. The wood in the first two pics look a lot better finished/shiny than the crude orange wood that doesn't even look well-sanded/smooth in the other pictures. Hopefully the first two pics are of the finished version and the others are of some prototype. Great, thanks. Methinks it's a good time to be a member of Team Planar.
