  1. You are now reading this in Morgan Freeman's voice. --- And now for something completely different:
  2. I touched my instrument for the first time in a couple weeks, and it felt good. And good to see Bugsey doing well.
  3. Now to decide if it should be in the eyes or the ears... I'm thinking they might turn out long and a bit... phallic.
  4. I already own the best Beyer so I'm not interested. I haven't even heard it yet but Smeggy knows what's up.
  5. Er, I meant for Capital Audiofest since it's close by. No way I'm making it to Axpona.
  6. x2 even though it's right after CanJam.
  7. This is my eargasm face: Or is it my Head-Fi face...
  8. I actually burst out laughing there. Amazing if that actually happened.
  9. True, they might actually be flatter in frequency response, and might also be more durable.
  10. I'm going to finally get it done tonight. Picked up my soldering station so I should be good to go. Got about a total of about 15 unintentional spread out hours of sleep in various places on and off campus the past four days, trying to get work done. Have you finished?
  11. Have you decided on a name yet?
  12. I'd interject with an inappropriate joke right now, but... no.
  13. I really like the yellow stripes on the battery in all of the dozen or so pics he took. And new connectors means new audiophile approved cables, which I'm quite looking forward to. I think Ray may have really hit a home run with this amp.
  14. Believe me, I know what it's like to want to collect rare things. My 'stat collection, for example. But it becomes a real bitch when you start buying things that are useless, however rare they are. So far I have barely managed to avoid doing that, for the most part. $500 seems a bit steep for an EQ unit but I do have a Lambda Pro. Don't however have money.
  15. What a nice looking dog, I hope the surgery goes well.
  16. The best way is to audition and decide from there. Keep in mind the ED-1 was made for the Lambda Pro and not the 404LE, so the EQ curves aren't completely right. Also keep in mind it's just an EQ box for diffuse field equalization, no magic involved.
  17. I think the current trend is toward larger netbooks and into the "ultraportable" realm which bridges the gap between netbooks and notebooks, since some people don't like cramped keyboards and small screens. My dad's 10" Aspire One really is a bit hard for me to use, but I agree that 12" is only 1" away from MacBook Pros and some Windows/Linux based notebooks.
  18. It should definitely be very nice, but the Atom is still what's holding netbooks back. This, on the other hand, is almost laptop level: Asus Eee PC 1201T to feature AMD Congo processor New AMD Congo dual core with ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics. Tradeoff will be battery life, though.
  19. What's best is eating a squirrel after it just ate one of its own brethren, it's like a two for one deal. And yeah, I can definitely imagine some of our redneck population shooting and eating lots of squirrel. Edit: I admit that I have tried rabbit and it isn't bad.
  20. Cannibalistic squirrels, too! It’s Squirrel Eat Squirrel World Birdchick In Britain, you eat squirrels. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/07/dining/07squirrel.html
  21. Hey, manboobs need support, too.
  22. I find cleavage + bra is a really useful pocket since I've seen people pull stuff out of there a couple times, and not just on TV/the movies.
  23. I'm waiting on the Nvidia Ion chips to become more prevalent, and/or the new AMD CPU to come out. I'd prefer more processing power than an Atom with integrated graphics, though it is enough for foobar and web browsing for the most part.
  24. No, because classical music isn't mainstream (anymore) or stupid. 'Real' music is real to whoever perceives it as being real and worth listening to, irrespective of the technical "validity." That said, it takes a shitload more brainpower and effort to put together a Mahler symphony than a standard pop song chord progression of Is and Vs with some IVs thrown in and a step modulation in the recap.
  25. The Omega 2 is too dark and smooth when underdriven to sound close to real life, and apparently only the likes of the WES and BHSE can really wake them up. I have not heard the 404LE but I do like most of the Lambdas I've heard so I think you made a good choice. Do you think piano recordings sound very close to real life with your Stax setup?
