Holy shit, if I didn't feel so bad for you right now I'd be laughing to blue in the face right now. "no low end dude" And that's ridiculous about how they stripped the screws and pretty much fucked everything up. Yeah, I wouldn't send an HD600 to them for fixing, let alone an HE60. Seems the best course of action is to buy a set of o-rings and send everything to Birgir (or someone else who actually knows what the hell they're doing).

I wouldn't say they are chewy but their texture reminds me of jellyfish and vice versa (kinda crunchy) so that's why I thought of it. In the right dishes they are really great. The bull teabags his dead carcass. That nutria pic needs some kind of lolcaption.

Yeah, I feel bad about the sharks, too. For the shrimp, it's more like.. the insides of the head. Not so much the outer shell or eyes or antennae. Unless they're baby shrimp, then everything is the same and I just chew and swallow. Never heard of bagoong but jellyfish is very tasty. And it's great that your wife is so open-minded. Most people I know limit themselves quite a bit when it comes to food. Ooh, something else that is very delicious: wood ears is the literal translation from Chinese. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auricularia_auricula-judae

All the stuff I listed is very common in Asian cultures, as everyone already said, and I do enjoy all of it. Glancing off 909's list and to add to my seafood list I have also had frog legs, various kinds of sea snails, raw eel, fish eggs, shrimp heads (hell, the whole shrimp including the shell and legs), sea cucumber, and yes I have had fish eyes too (not a fan). I'd love to have a store like The Healthy Buffalo nearby. Edit: And of course shark fin soup

You know, that's exactly what I was about to say but ended up not posting it for some reason. I don't buy into the cryo cap, either, and was thinking maybe it's just the way the drivers are assembled especially since you experimented with rebuilding one awhile back. If I ever feel the need to get tweaky as hell I'm going to buy an SR-303 and mod the shit out of it. Won't happen in 2010, though.

Or a letter. Or a chromosome. Or a generation.

A bit scathing, but not entirely uncalled for. Especially since I'm in the same camp. Anything outside of neutrality bugs the shit outta me and I can't let go of the colorations if they exceed my admittedly small tolerance. It's why I dislike the O2 MkI so much (disclaimer: haven't heard it out of crazy $$$ amps like the BHSE) and prefer the HD600 to the 650. You guys are really making me want to hear the HD800.
-
Well it hates fucking you, too.
-
I've actually heard everything on the list except the HD800 but don't remember the sound of the 'stats. Just wanted to say that the headphones you just mentioned are the kind I prefer (neutral, flat, uncolored) so I really want to hear the HD800.

Yeah, nah I'm good. Agreed, messed up eggs are great. In fact, I usually dislike the most obvious way of eating them, scrambled. Infinitely prefer sunny side up, or some of this crazier stuff. I also really like plain hardboiled eggs dipped in some salt. So good. I don't mind tea-soaked hardboiled eggs, either. I haven't eaten anything that crazy, but some things that most people in western culture don't eat that I've had include chicken feet/claws (don't know why it's not more popular), fish brains, pork ears, pork intestines, pork feet, tripe (cow), and rabbit. Edit: Squid, octopus, chicken internal organs (heart, liver, giblet), congealed pork blood

Little Dot MkVI balanced tube amp?
mypasswordis replied to Hopstretch's topic in Headphone Amplification
It's like a mix of LOTR and Zelda: the Two Triforce Tube Towers (TTTT for short). I'm interested in taking a peek under the bonnet. -
Brought out the Superex PEP-74 for the first time in half a year. Yup, I have too many headphones.

You certainly know the quickest way to a woman's heart. After seeing some pics of Mopani worms I'm pretty sure I'd try balut first. I'm already used to eggs that are messed up: Century egg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Salted duck egg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And of course shacha sauce + raw egg yolk for hot pot.

She's a cunning little fox, as seductive as she is manipulative. Er, what were we talking about here?
-
Is this some kind of psychoactive drug? Because that would make so much more sense.
-
What's the consensus on variations in sound of the 701 by s/n?
-
Wow, that's pretty bad. Chances Koss have been developing a successor to the 950 or making a better amp for it: nil. Or negative. Here is a pic of her in case anyone's curious (I was):

How about trying your hand at grilling inside the house? It'll be fun trying to not have the smoke detector constantly go off, your house burn down, everything get covered in soot/grease, death caused by oxygen deprivation, etc etc. I guess waiting would be a better idea for us both. I've got a stockpile of "beef" patties that was supposed to be for my birthday 1.5 years ago that I have yet to use.

What I wouldn't give for a thick juicy slice of steak right now... pink, slightly bloody and tender, grilled to perfection. I'm hungry. The thread title also reminds me of Biggie (when I'm less hungry):

Thanks for the impressions Miguel. Give it more time, sometimes the initially unimpressive sounding headphones come out on top after you realize everything else is just colored. Not to say that the HE5 isn't colored, but I'd have to spend more time with it to really figure it out. penger, how do you like NoNoNoNoNoNo's HE5? Any sibilance/treble peaks?
-
Happy birthday!

That's like asking most of us how many headphones we have now, or in the case of Dinny, DACs. More than we care to admit... Edit: Well, at least Dusty's man enough to admit.

And are you going to be He-Man or the unicorn?
-
I read a lot of epic fail and irony in the HF ortho thread. Seriously, ROFLMAO @ Rick saying Birgir's never used a multimeter before.

The HD600 actually is a good headphone, though. Also, the only thing Beyer keeps mentioning/hyping up about the T1 is that it has stronger magnets, which isn't necessarily a good thing. It means you can possibly use thinner/lighter voice coils and have increased efficiency, but voice coils can only get so thin before they become very fragile and heat up really fast and we don't need the extra efficiency. And you'd think Beyerdynamic would tout having extra thin voice voils as a feature on top of the magnets but they didn't. We all thought the HD800's ring radiator design wasn't that special, but it in fact is very special in comparison with increasing the strength of the magnets. Yes, this is all just speculation on my part so take it with a grain of salt.
