I agree with Marc. The weight difference between the 13" air and rMBP is trivial.

Fair enough. I guess it doesn't bother me as I use a 24" external monitor if I need the real estate, which I absolutely do quite a bit. Oh, and I wasn't trying to be snarky. I was actually a bit surprised when I looked as there was a more substantial difference between the two when I bought mine.

The only differences I see between a current maxed out 11 and 13 air is screen size, battery life and SD slot. Am I missing something?

You are not going to stop this kind of occurrence by removing one tool. I never said that gun control was bad, good, or indifferent. Just that it would not stop this kind of tragedy. Gun control or arming teachers for that matter is a red herring and will not solve the problem. I think if we started realistically focusing on the root cause of problems we would all be better off. Treating symptoms does not cure the disease, it just makes you feel better, until you die.

And the assumption then is it is better if they kill fewer?

And how well has that worked out. Band aids are fine for shallow cuts but deep wounds require stitches.

It is a complex issue. Neither gun control nor concealed carry for the masses will solve the problem. My opinion. That was the reasoned response. The emotional reponse is one of alternate sadness and rage.
