Dear Mr. Biased Piece-of-Shit Soccer Ref Cunt: Here is a piece of advice. If you want your biased calling to have any chance of flying under the radar, do not fist bump the players of the opposing team. More on point, I let my displeasure with the referree be known to pretty much everyone and he threatened to throw me off the tournament field. I said fine. He said fine. I said, well? .... I watched the end of the game.

If you decide to sell the Stealths, I call dibs, unless somebody has already called dibs, in which case, nevermind!

Lots of things eat dead things and if they have died of poisoning then they are also full of poison. If the dead rats cannot be removed by a predator then it is probably OK. I have seen raccoons get into bear-proof containers so there is that. The reason I said to check them twice a day is because it tends to be hot in attacks and dead things and hot places are not a match made in heaven. While the bait is an attractant, the amount is relatively small so I would be surprised if it increased the immigration rate significantly.

That seems like a better company. I also understand not wanting to deal with rodents. No big deal for me since I did my Master's project live-trapping White-footed Mice and did a later project on Cotton Rats. Both involved handling living rodents. White-footed Mice are actually pretty non-aggressive. The same cannot be said for Cotton Rats. We usually end up with anywhere from 2 - 5 White-Footed Mice that decide it is a good idea to take up residence in our house. It always ends up being detrimental to their fitness. I am not a big fan of poison, especially in open areas, because it usually ends up taking out non-target species, many of which actually help control the pest, and so you actually end up making your problem worse.

What I would do is set traps myself. I would probably set four traps in places where you notice rat droppings. I would check them twice a day, once in the morning. If you catch a rat replace the trap with a new one, set it and wash the old trap and let air dry before using again. If you have rats you should catch some in the first few days. I would not worry about getting the house sealed up unless you keep catching the rats semi-continuously. If you are only catching 1 or 2 a month then you have to weigh the cost with the expense of knocking it down to 1 or 2 per year. I doubt you could ever get it down to zero. The rat pictures on the website are actually mice.

Back slowly away from this one. It cannot really be done unless you are going to pay exorbitant amounts of money. What is required is to close every hole 1/2" diam. or larger for rats and 1/4" diam. or larger for mice. If you miss any, they will find them since they have nothing but time. Grahame has a good idea or you could go with Greg's solution and cultivate rattlesnakes, which love to eat rodents.

Reviving this thread. So my AirPort Extreme is starting to act a bit flaky and will need to be replaced. I have been happy with it and could simply replace it with the updated model. A refurb goes for $129 so not too expensive. I know a few people recently updated so if there is a reason to go another route please let me know.

I have had no problems connecting my eye-fi to my Mac, iPad or iPhone. Been going on three years now.

You may want to look into one of Richard Franiec's custom grips for the S100. It made all the difference in the world on my S95. In fact I was all set to return the camera until I installed the grip. Still using the S95 (Until I can't stand not having the RX100 ii).

He still doesn't have a biscuit.

Another +1 on the RX100 Mkii. As soon as my S95 bites the dust (or I smash it into little bits), the Sony will be mine.

So we have been at a relatively unexpected soccer tournament this weekend. On Wednesday we received an email from the coach of the sporting St. Louis Rangers U12 boys team. They were looking for a guest player to replace their goalie for the tournament. This is one of two Academies run by The MLS team Sporting K.C. (The other one in KC). We were not sure what Peter's reaction would be as he would be playing goalie on a very high level team with players he did not know, and he would be playing U12 at 101/2. He immediately said yes and was very excited to play. So we had two games on Saturday and two on Sunday. The first game was rather calm and he made 5 solid saves, which gave him a lot of confidence as the team won 1-0. The second game was against the Chicago Fire U12 academy team. This game was a dogfight and Peter made 14 saves and let in one goal. The team won 2-1 and he definitely secured that win for them. I also must add that the Chicago Fire team was one of the dirtiest playing teams I have ever seen. We had one of our players kneed in the back, after the play was over, one player kneed in the groin, after the play was over and one of their players sitting on the goalie to prevent him from getting up. (They were fucking close to losing that player). On Sunday, the first game was a blow out and we won 9-0. Peter only touched the ball once. The second game was interesting and we eventually won 2-1 with their goal coming on a PK because our goalie took down the player in the box without actually trying for the ball. His mom was furious and my comment was as long as you are going to take him down at least use the arm bar. Anyway, we ended up winning the tournament and Peter only let in 2 goals, one of which was a PK.
