  1. All that proves is that the airfoil does not significantly change the overall drag of the vehicle. You are then assuming that also means it is not providing any negative lift. I am not assuming magic, I am assuming good engineering by people with degrees in fluid dynamics, but not magic. By the way, I also think that the airfoil is pretty ugly and it is definitely not my style. Nevertheless, I do have confidence that Honda can design a great vehicle because my CRX was a great vehicle in its time.
  2. Unless you have the measured Cd with and without wing, I do not to see how you can conclude that the airfoil does nothing. Does not appear to be a conclusion based upon science and analysis but on perception of ugliness. Oh, and birds do not live in an ideal world either but their Cl to Cd ratio is pretty amazing especially for the long distance gliders.
  3. Downforce depends on the Cl (Coefficient of Lift) and drag depends on Cd (Coefficient of Drag), which are not the same thing. The Cd and Cl for an automobile depends upon the entire automobile, not just the airfoil, which is what your formula is looking at. What you really want is for the airfoil to provide significant lift (negative in this case) while increasing drag as little as possible. You may be wondering how I know this and it is because birds fly and people (i.e. grad students) study that shit.
  4. Happy Birthday, David!
  5. Happy Birthday, Kerry!
  6. If you have to ask, you can't afford them.
  7. Yep. Duet Display Rocks.
  8. I would not want to have to run my 13" MacBook Pro with Touchbar with less than the 16Gb of RAM it has. YMMV but unless there is serious financial constraints it just does not make sense to me. According to Apple, no. According to me, in my usage I have been unaware of any real usage difference, but my usage is mainly flash drives. I do plug my docking station(s) into a left side port.
  9. For some reason I never took much umbrage when someone called me a philistine.
  10. Unless you think your going to need the absolute best unplugged run time I would definitely go with max ram because you cannot upgrade it later. I would probably go middle I5 because for most programs the I7 does not bring any huge advantage. But it also does not bring a huge disadvantage. The only time I felt I had too much laptop was when it weighed too much.
  11. ^^^This. I have never regretted getting more memory in any computer, but I have regretted getting less.
  12. The MacBooks do not have the unplugged run time of an iPad, so you end up using the USBc for charging more often. Plus, I am comparing it to the MacBook Pro with 2 or 4 ports.
  13. @Shelly - Do you find the single USBc port to be a limitation. I see you can now get them with 16Gb RAM so they are getting there.
  14. Agreed. Supernatural is more like Dubya. Trump is more like Prometheus, absolutely horrendous.
  15. I'm 60 and don't feel my age. I credit having kids.
  16. Yep I would love to try a pair as I can see the end of the rainbow for the pair of pads currently installed.
  17. What I find clunky on the iPad is not typing, but editing. For me a mouse works best, trackpad second and touch dead last.
  18. I would definitely choose the MacBook Pro (I have the 13" Touch Model) because the iPad does not fully multitask, cannot run Windows as a virtual device and there are still a lot of things I do that are better/easier with a mouse. The caveat here is that this is based upon my iPad Air since my iPad Pro order is still processing. If this changes with the new iPad I will update here.

I agree with this. Your normal brain based hearing calibration curve is based upon the sound from essentially a point source reaching each ear and then combined nonlinearly to allow sound localization, i.e. distance and direction. This obviously utilizes the asymmetrical location and shape of both the inner and outer ear, head size and shape, bone density, etc. This curve does not work with headphones for obvious reasons. Personally, I had to learn how to listen properly with headphones. Essentially I had to build another calibration curve or more properly, curves since not all headphones interact the same way with my rather imperfect sensors.
  20. Lunch: Bahamanian Chowder, Conch Fritters and Shrimp and Lobster Quesadillas
  21. Also not sure about the home pod. I have an echo dot in the office because it was worth trying for $40. It is fun and it seems more useful if you have smart lights and such. Pretty sure I will not be jumping on the $350 homepod for a while after it is released.
  22. I need to start working on plans to get ERAU to buy me an iMac Pro next year
  23. Both of the above. ?
