^^^This. I have never regretted getting more memory in any computer, but I have regretted getting less.

The MacBooks do not have the unplugged run time of an iPad, so you end up using the USBc for charging more often. Plus, I am comparing it to the MacBook Pro with 2 or 4 ports.
-
@Shelly - Do you find the single USBc port to be a limitation. I see you can now get them with 16Gb RAM so they are getting there.

Agreed. Supernatural is more like Dubya. Trump is more like Prometheus, absolutely horrendous.

I'm 60 and don't feel my age. I credit having kids.

Yep I would love to try a pair as I can see the end of the rainbow for the pair of pads currently installed.

What I find clunky on the iPad is not typing, but editing. For me a mouse works best, trackpad second and touch dead last.
-
I would definitely choose the MacBook Pro (I have the 13" Touch Model) because the iPad does not fully multitask, cannot run Windows as a virtual device and there are still a lot of things I do that are better/easier with a mouse. The caveat here is that this is based upon my iPad Air since my iPad Pro order is still processing. If this changes with the new iPad I will update here.

I agree with this. Your normal brain based hearing calibration curve is based upon the sound from essentially a point source reaching each ear and then combined nonlinearly to allow sound localization, i.e. distance and direction. This obviously utilizes the asymmetrical location and shape of both the inner and outer ear, head size and shape, bone density, etc. This curve does not work with headphones for obvious reasons. Personally, I had to learn how to listen properly with headphones. Essentially I had to build another calibration curve or more properly, curves since not all headphones interact the same way with my rather imperfect sensors.

Also not sure about the home pod. I have an echo dot in the office because it was worth trying for $40. It is fun and it seems more useful if you have smart lights and such. Pretty sure I will not be jumping on the $350 homepod for a while after it is released.

"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"

Agree with you 100% Steve. My favorite snake when I was growing up was a California King Snake. It was the most beautiful and docile snake I ever had the pleasure to interact with. Snakes were the reason I do what I do today. We went kayaking for a few hours this morning on Spruce Creek. Very old south looking black water creek. We then came back home to watch Arsenal beat Chelsea for the FA cup. After that we went and traded in Peters old bike for a new Raleigh for his birthday. All in all a pretty nice day, but my shoulders are already complaining about the kayaking.

Ford Flex. Big, lumbering, underpowered and top heavy. Worked wonderfully during the snowstorm in Denver.

Spent yesterday installing a bit over 26 feet of Rubbermaid FastTrack in the garage. Then hanging shit so we can actually park two vehicles in the garage. The tracks were an easy install. It actually took longer to hang, rearrange, rehang, etc. than to put up the tracks. Recommended.
