Happy Birthday, Dan!

Dusty has that one exactly right. Thanks both of you for that, going to listen to some ELP.

We just bought a 65” LG (SM8600PUA) at BestBuy to replace the 50” Vizio in our bedroom and we both like it a lot. My strategy is to buy a (not super expensive) TV that has a good interface (We have a Samsung downstairs and the LG Upstairs and I like both of the interfaces with a slight nod to the LG) and hope it lasts for about 3 years. At that point technology has run way past it and if it still works that’s gravy but I will probably replace it. The Samsung is due next Christmas. As a bonus, this was the easiest SmartTV I have ever set up.

We had to add Karen's moms phone to our plan, so we checked out all of the deals and decided to brave going to the local Verizon store Monday. A couple of hours later we had her mom added to our plan and we both had new iPhone XS Maxs (a nice upgrade from our 7+). Total cost was a little over $100 and the monthly payment will actually be a few dollars cheaper. Overall a good investment for a couple of hours. Today we went to BestBuy and each picked up a pair of AirPod Pros. I think I am going to like them.

Happy Christmas and Merry Birthday, Ric!

Too late now. It will definitely be on the menu soon. Definitely will do a double batch next time (only did 1.5x today) and there will be pics.

Now if only they could train the old people around here to drive that well. -
Went with the Linksys Velop TriBand System (Three Units). Wanted to go with the Unifi because H-C. I have drop in the Family Room so running one into the garage would be only a minor pain. However, running cable to the upstairs would be either a major pain (i.e. I do it) or not worth the expense (i.e. pay a pro to do it). The Velop got pretty good reviews plus I got a pretty good price on it. If I don't like it I will try the Unifi with only two drops and see how that works out.

I am currently using an AirPort Extreme but I know I am on limited time here. Our house is two stories at around 3500 Sq. Ft. with cinder block outside walls which limit signal strength in the garage and outside. Thinking that a mesh system should be the way to go so looking for opinions as well as any recommendations. I like the software interface on the AE and have really had no problems with the system but unfortunately Apple has parked the bus on this one.

Stay safe and sound Cali peeps!

Do have a bit of a battery drain problem on my iPhone 7+ but my IPad also seems just fine, maybe even better battery life. To be fair I seemed to start having battery life problems on the phone starting with my first upgrade to iOS 13, which was 13.1, doesn’t really seem any worse on 13.1.3.

But you can put in sour cream.
