Had a six hour regulators meeting with DOE, EPA and SCDHEC Then went and ate a whole bunch of sushi. Packed up the apartment for the drive back to IL tomorrow.
When you are in Munich check out Kloster Andechs monastery and brewery. Excellent scenery, great food, excellent beers, especially the doppelbach and hefeweizen. Easy to get to via the S-bahn. Just head south on the S-5 toward Hersching and the Amersee.
Drove to Isle of Palms. Checked into the Boardwalk Inn at the Wild Dunes Resort. Hung out by the pool and beach all day drinking Palmetto pale ales. Then we went to dinner. Started off with she-crab soup then shrimp and grits with a side of bleu cheese cole slaw. Washed it down with a couple of Shock Tops. Life is good and so is Priceline.
The Neko can be hard to compare to other DAC's without volume matching. The passive output stage can make it a lot quieter than units with a hotter output. Plus it is one of those components that does not wow on first listen and requires some extended listening to really get a feel for how it performs. Notice, I am being completely uninformative as to my opinion as I feel I need to listen to it more.
Unless you are red-green color blind. On point, individual variation also plays a large part when dealing with biological entities.
I will help out on any dbt in any way I can.
On topic: I had contacted RAM about some mods to my CA 840C. I had a bad feeling due to them not really answering my questions and instead using some weird techno-speak that as far as I can tell is a derivative of pig-latin.
Off topic: Does the PS Audio have a 176.4 upsampling option? If so, give that a try when the 192 kHz seems a bit too digital or harsh. I pretty much use that over 192 KHz most of the time.
My point was that this is not an I2S interface issue as I2S carries PCM not DSD (PDM) data, thus the length limitations of I2S are not relevant to this connection. Only 90% sure on this so I'm certainly willing to be proven (not browbeaten) wrong.
