  1. Thanks Andrew. It is probably the 9018 as you said. I am definitely watching out for this one. I will be very interested in what it is priced at as the tab on my Buffalo just keeps rising.
  2. Spoken like a true expert.
  3. Dibs on the UPA-2 when it is sold.
  4. Happy Birthday Mike!
  5. I you are trying to keep costs down then I would go with the Outlaw but I would go up to the 7125 or maybe a used 5-channel older model like the 755. If you want to stay under $1000 I'm not sure you can do much better new and used is a crap shoot.
  6. I actually use five of the older M-200 monoblocks (currently the M-2200). I am quite fond of the Outlaw amps, now their processors, not so much. The reason I suggested the Rotel is that is a damn fine price for that amp.
  7. Rotel RMB-1075
  8. Thanks, ordered that plus the SACD of Whites Off Earth Now which I have been meaning to order. Natalie Merchant FTW
  9. Happy Birth Day To You.
  10. Yep, it will be the USB input (so a little surgery required) and I will feed the SPDIF output to SPDIF MUX and then into the Buffalo. Totally a ripoff of Naaman's build as it is just a great idea. I needed the MUX anyway for my other inputs.
  11. Technically, there are no native Americans, just people who immigrated here before others.
  12. The last few pieces parts for the Sabre32 DAC (other than casework) plus a replacement for my old Weller that seems to have perished from non-usage.
  13. I thought the P1 was SE?
  14. As I said in my initial post, I feel the RMAF event will be of benefit to the community. I also do not feel that it will have a major impact on attendance by members or vendors on CanJam'10. Any loss due to some choosing to go to RMAF will likely be more than compensated by increased exposure to a larger audience. My only "concern" and it is minor, has to do with branding. If they are marketed as CanJamA and CanJamB then the inherent message is that they are varients of the same thing and not independent events with their own unique advantages. Perhaps, it is good that I am not in marketing.
  15. My reason for not liking CanJam at RMAF is mainly to differentiate the two events. It's not a big problem AFAIC but I think it helps both events to have unique names. Head-Fi ties both together so the important aspect is to differentiate the event in the minds of potential attendees. While I agree that Head-Fi at RMAF has the potential to dwarf CanJam in terms of numbers, Mathematically (and from headphone/headphone paraphernalia vendors perspective) an RMAF attendee and a CanJam attendee is not a one-to-one relationship.
  16. I do disagree with using the moniker CanJam for this event but otherwise a great development.
  17. Sounds like it was a pretty cool "meet". May need to work on getting the Chicago audiophile society involved in some upcoming events.
  18. It was mostly an example to illustrate that "cut and dry" is in the eye of the beholder if you are paying for a performance. I think the radio royalties to the songwriter make sense, the artist not so much, so I agree with that logic.
  19. Yesterday: Drove from Aiken, SC back to Charleston. IL. Today: Going through accumulated mail. Yeah! The IRS says I do not have to pay taxes on my retirement rollover. Nevertheless, they are still
  20. So if someone samples from 10 songs to create a "new song", who gets paid?
  21. Hmm, do you have a link? I've never heard of the ESS9016 just the 9018 and 9012. Does sound like something to look into.
