  1. No, the comparison to Singlepower always carries the baggage of the lies and fraud that he perpetrated upon his customers whether that is your intent or not.
  2. This year my wife, Karen, will be running the Chicago marathon as a St. Jude hero again. As the flagship of the Children's Hospital Network, St. Jude is a special charity. Unlike last year however, Karen made a deal with her Facebook friends that if they met a certain monetary goal, she would run the race in a Wonder Woman costume (I was actually pushing for a bikini clad Princess Leia, since I am a man of that age). As can be seen below, they did step up. Additional, race-day photos will be forthcoming. If you would like to donate you can do it HERE
  3. Actually in the light of day things were not as bad as they looked last night. Still some major damage but actually no one was killed in my sister-in-laws building. But everyone is healthy and insured.
  4. Wow. That's pretty much how I solve most Windows problems.
  5. That is really nice. I love the smell of sawdust in the morning.
  6. Just got a call from my sister-in-law. Both she and my mother-in-law live in Forest Hills. Her apartment was damaged pretty badly and her car destroyed but she is OK. 4 people in her building were killed. No damage to my mother-in-laws building except a little plaster falling from the ceiling. The weather patterns they are a changin'.
  7. The Apple mail application has no unicorn dust. True story.
  8. Happy Birthday, my brother in ethanol.
  9. Yes, when I want to connect directly to the virtual machine rather than the Mac itself. Plus it does not cost anything extra since the iPad app is free. Oh and the Drink-a-dex app for the iPad has a great selection of recipes. I sometimes go back to the actual books as it is light on pictures showing the presentation, but usually it is what I have been using lately.
  10. Good luck with both Dan.
  11. The Happiest of Birthday Wishes to You Sir.
  12. Dan Lavry writes white papers and publishes them on his site. That is not a peer reviewed scientific paper so take it for what it is, an opinion, dressed up to look like a scientific explanation.
  13. Running SAS from the iPad. Parallels 6 and Parallels mobile FTMFW.
  14. Just synced the iPad on the Mac Mini with iTunes 10 and no problems whatsoever. Actually it was the smoothest sync in recent memory.

    Audeze LCD-2

    It is now the LCD-2.24
  16. AKG 701s definitely need a cable mod as dual entry circumvents the stupidity of AKGs single entry design. I use the word design in the broadest possible sense.
  17. But, unfortunately, not surprising.
  18. He was so ridiculous he always made me laugh.
  19. Temporarily I'll use the Emotiva but long-term is to be decided.
  20. Thanks everyone. It was pretty much a no-brainer with the speakers being located within relatively easy driving distance. I do have the spikes and the discs so I am going to give those a try once I decide what to use for amplification. I may take you up on the EC footers Al. They may end up working better for stability on a wooden floor.
  21. I had a modified one (zap filter plus a few other mods) for quite a while. It supplanted a Meridian G-08 but was itself supplanted by a Cambridge 840c. I guess I disagree with Steve. Nevertheless it is a solid player except for the transport issues, which I never experienced.
  22. Picked up a few things I can't get locally at Lukas Liquors, like Dolin vermouth. We actually go over to St. Louis a few times a year as it is only about a 2 1/2 hour drive.
  23. Just got back from St. Louis with these:
  24. Drove to St. Louis to pick up a little somthin' somethin'.
