  1. I was just researching a cocktail recipe and came across some really good advice from Robert Hess about stocking your bar. His suggestion is to start with your favorite cocktail, find the recipe and variants, buy all the ingredients and experiment with that. Then move on to the next and so forth. Pretty soon you will have the perfectly stocked bar and you will also have a pretty good mixing repertoire under your belt. Of course that is not what I did, but then I am Part of Head-case and therefore Hard-core.
  2. Sorry for your loss Shelly. RIP Ranger.
  3. The happiest of birthday wishes to you both.
  4. Nice score Mike.
  5. To Shelly and Als list I would also add a vodka you like, orange and cherry bitters and Lillet blanc. You could make a serious dent in the cocktail list with those ingredients.
  6. ^^^ This if you mainly want to use it as a standalone device.
  7. Totally agree with Shelly. In fact, using fresh ingredients like juices and garnishes may be more important to the taste than using really good liquor. The fun part is that the cocktails do scale with better ingredients plus you get to exercise a little more creativity. Give it a shot.
  8. The happiest of birthdays to both of you youngsters.
  9. Very nice. Have the same rack here and it is definitely a keeper. Very high WAF! Very nice haul Shelly. Me:
  10. Heh. I really like lizards, and their brains.
  11. Drank three martinis and one Sazerac and somehow made it back to the hotel last night.
  12. Sorry about that Vicky. Hopefully they can get them back to perfection again for you.
  13. I'll probably just go with my avatar, as it seems to fit pretty well. You know those super heroes, always rushing around to save the world.
  14. ^^^^ This is why I am buying one.
  15. Noice x2 Doug and Tom.
  16. Well we are on our way up to Chicago as the race is tomorrow. I wanted to thank everyone for their support. The weather looks good so update pictures will be forthcoming.
  17. Why do people take that as a slam. It seems to me that burn-in is a combination of mechanical accommodation of drivers and psycho-acoustical accommodation of the brain. In any specific case, one may predominate over the other.
  18. Totally agree with that. The Dreadnaught is great in bottles but superlative on draught.
  19. Oh!! That is very nice. You definitely need to save a little of that for MOA II.
  20. Your professor is a turd. Unfortunately, he has a lot of company in bio departments all over the world (professors, graduate students and post-docs) that somehow fail to understand that biology is not understandable using Deterministic models.
  21. A big bag of quadruple bagged cones was waiting for me when I got home
  22. ^^^ So you love crap?
  23. Happy Birthday to you sir!
  24. Nice whiskey pickup Al.
