Shelly - Actually it could work but I'm not sure of the proportions. 1:2 (Campari:Carpano) is probably as high as I would go. I will do a little taste test after I finish my Anvil # 24 Daiquiri **2 oz light rum **1 oz lime juice **1/2 oz simple syrup **a lime wedge (apply as garnish before serving). Shake with ice and strain into an ice-filled wine glass. Add three drops of orange flower water on top. This is probably the best daiquiri I have ever had. The sample size is pretty small though. I have definitely changed my thoughts on the Tiki type drinks.

So I am liking the s95 a lot. A question for those in the know. Is the Franiec grip a worthwhile addition to the s95's useability? -
^^^ OK. That made me laugh a lot more than it should have.

Jerry also lists all of the Toddys as either cold or hot. It was in the teens the other night so hot suited me. I do agree that some bitters may have been good in there. That sounds like a really cool book Al, I will keep an eye out for a copy at less than $250. Also for the cocktail family I just bought some recreated Bokers Bitters at Cocktail Kingdom.

@Mike - Party on my man. @John - Nice. I will be interested in your impressions.

Marc - I make my grenadine a little less sweet as I like it to have more of a pomegranate taste. That being said the secret cocktail was not my favorite. Nice manly drink there pirate Al ..... Aaarrggh! Anvil # 59 Morning Glory (Fizz) Based upon the ingredients listed in the Anvil list this is the Morning Glory Fizz and not the Morning Glory Cocktail. Juice of 1/2 lemon or a lime. (I used lime) **1/4 oz powdered sugar **an egg white **2 dashes absinthe **1 1/2 oz Scotch whisky Shake and strain into tumbler. Fill with seltzer. This is OK but so far the Jack Rose wins tonight.

Nice sling Al and thanks for the cocktail history. So it had to be done sooner or later, Anvil # 70 Pink Lady I used the recipe from Dr. Haigh, but don't look it up under pink lady because he lists it under the secret cocktail. **1 1/2 oz London dry gin **1/2 oz applejack **Juice of 1/2 lemon. **an egg white **2 dashes pomegranate or grenadine (I used 1 tsp) Shake in an iced cocktail shaker and strainh into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry. Hmmm ... Not bad. And my manhood appears to be still intact without referring to it as the secret cocktail.

I better have two.

Nice drink and nice glass Shelly. I think I will use the same glass. Anvil # 41 Jack Rose **1 1/2 oz applejack **Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon (1 oz) **2 dashes pomegranate or grenadine (I upped it to 1/2 oz after the initial sip) Shake in an iced cocktail shaker and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge or lemon wedge. Much better than I expected.

Heh. Enjoy your snowday Pete.

I told you it was a recruiting tool

Anvil # 93 Tom & Jerry This is not simple. (Use punch-bowl for the mixture.) Take 12 fresh eggs.
-
That is beautiful. That is even more beautiful. Where are you going to have it rehandled?
-
Yes. Yes it is. Anvil # 97 Whiskey Skin The Anvil list calls for Scotch but I used Irish Whiskey to compare to the Toddy since the only difference is the lemon rind aka skin. (Use small bar-glass.) Take 1 lump of white sugar. 1 small wine-glass of Irish whiskey. 1 small piece of lemon-peel. First rinse the glass with hot water, put in the sugar, fill the glass half-full of boiling water, add the whiskey and stir. Serve with a spoon. No you are not having Deja-vu. It is pretty much the same drink as the toddy with the addition of the lemon rind. There is no spoon.

Should find out by May 2011.

My Mac Pro is a great workstation and runs Win 7 great. In coherence mode I can almost forget I'm running Windows. It was essentially the only option for me as I need to run both operating systems. There is no longer any software I need to run that I cannot. Plus that big hunk of aluminum is a lot cooler than the Dell workstation it replaced. That being said I opted for two HP monitors that together cost significantly less than one slightly smaller Apple monitor. Dual monitors FTW. Also Excel does blow on OSX.

Never had any problem. Maybe I just feel comfortable with chaotic systems. Feels kind of natural.

That's such a 2010 argument.

The droid interface has caught up to iPhone IMO. Each still it's strengths but the pace of innovation is increasing on the android platform. It should be a nice race to watch and we all win from the competition. On the computing side Apple still wins, and that is coming from a lifelong Windows fanboy. Win7 runs at least as good in Parallels as stand alone, and sometimes I think it runs better.

Happy Birthday to you.
