That aviation looks yummy. That looks and sounds like an awesome bar. It appears that The Bitter Truth guys have an entire line of liquers now. Interesting.
BTW if anyone wants a bottle of Blackwoods let me know. My place had none last month but yesterday they had 5 bottles. Now 4. It's not cheap at $53 per but I think it is worth it.
Ok. Have Shelly, Todd and Marc down for one. I should be able to pick them up tomorrow. We will go from there once I actually have them.
Friar Tuck's in Champaign has a good supply of the black barleywine and grand cru. this will be my first pass on the black barleywine but I really like the grand cru, and of course, the Norton Reserva.
Well since it was originally made with Sazerac Forge et Fils cognac I prefer to think of it as melding the old and new Sazeracs but Vieux Sazerac will work.
And the red hook is a definite win.
Earlier today had lunch at the Sunsinger Cafe.
Started with a Two Brothers Dog Days Dortmunder.
Then 1/2 of a German pretzel sandwich and a cup of gazpacho.
And for dessert, a caipirinha
I actually like the claw better than the Bihn absolute on the gator. With the weight of the gator the Bihn strap moves and slips but the claw lives up to it's name. With the additional weight of the Sunchaser, absolute all the way.
I usually use the Gary Regan recipe Al posted above. With a 3:2 ratio of tequila:triple sec you really don't need any additional sweetener. I am also with Marc in that the Clement Creole Shrubb works very well here.
I drank quite a few of their brews. We walked up the entire way and only after we had arrived did Karen inform me that there was a bus that went up and down the mountain. The doppelbock is excellent, but really they are all very good as is the food.
Those are absolutely beautiful pictures Stretch.
The Prague travelogue has been great Al. That Manhattan looks great as does the bar. Looking forward to your Munich impressions. You may want to check out the Andechs monastery/brewery to "refresh your spirit".
