First, I finally got up the nerve for the clear rye throwdown: This will be a non-Skylab, non-HPA review. The Wasmund's clear rye spirit remained as hideously vile as I remembered. The Barbershop clear rye was merely vile. However, since the Barbershop is significantly more expensive I declare it a tied FAIL. I needed something to cleanse my palate so I went with an improved Lucien Gaudin cocktail: 1 1/2 oz Junipero Gin 1/2 oz Mandarine Napolean 1/2 oz Gran Classico Bitters 1/2 oz Vya extra dry Vermouth Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

I just wasn't sure a TS plug would work in the jack. I simply never tried. When I wanted to hook something up that was only single ended I used XLR to RCA adapters at the end of my cables. Since the TS to RCA works for you I guess that question is answered.

I think Marc is correct. I'm not sure TS cables would work. I do know for a fact that TRS-->XLR cables work. Mine does not have the Jensen transformers.

Damn I hate Wednesday evenings and Thursday's. Long ecology labs cut deep into interwebz surfing time. Sorry to hear about the troubles Jacob, but it appears to be already on the mend (relationship and knee). Today went out electrofishing with my ecology labs. So now sitting at gymnastics wet and smelling like fish. The other parents really love me.

I love my ULN-2. The FireWire connection has worked flawlessly once I figured out how to correctly route the signal between the various inputs and outputs. I initially had it connected via coax SPDIF with a squeezebox receiver as source. Sounded comparable to using the MAC Mini and FireWire but there was never a direct comparison so take that with a grain of salt. I will be purchasing an Amarra 4/SS 304/MH LIO-8 in the next couple of months so this will be available for audition and maybe for sale. I have no background noise on either the BA with any of my dynamics or the BHSE with either the Omega or OII. Not exactly the JH-13 but I have not really felt limited by my source. I believe Merkertek has TRS to RCA cables. I have an extra set of TRS to XLR but that is not particularly helpful.

But this is Head-Case and most of us could care less if HF Is full of posts that are the equivalent of putrified shark. Second, one does not have to be able to do something to validly criticize it. For example I can validly state that Tim Tebow absolutely sucked at quarterback in his last game. Do I have to be a better quarterback than Tebow to say that? ....... OK. Not a good example.
