Looks like Micheal Bolton is still a no talent assclown. But at least I can go to Disney Land now. Dear Sir/ Madam, The prestigious Microsoft and AOL has set out andsuccessfully organized a Sweepstakes marking the year 2008 anniversary we rolled out over US$400,419,864 for our Mid-year Anniversary Draws. Participants for the draws were randomly selected and drawn from a wide range of web hosts which we enjoy their patronage. The selection was made through a computer draw system attaching vpersonalized email addresses to ticket numbers. If you ignore this massage, you will defiantly regret it later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies & in effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program,Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test. Your email address as indicated was drawn and attached to reference and ticket number 008795727498 with serial numbers MIC-AOL/8302/08 and drew the lucky numbers 14-18-25-39-53-47 (10) which subsequently won you

McIntosh flagship SACD/CD/Headphone amp player

FYI it uses the Sabre8 (same used in the Buffalo) DAC chips. -
It's really hard to say which I like better. They both sound very good. I really want to hear them on a couple different setups and with speakers. I also plan on trying a resistor I/V stage with a tube buffer on the D1.

I was bored and threw down a $1500 bid to get things going.

I was hitting Ctrl-R for about an hour. Then I figured they either sold out in 5 sec or something was amiss. They did sell out in about two minutes though.

I do. I then usually write them a email asking for any research or white papers they may have on the nonsense they are spouting. So far nothing.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

The Buffalo can acccept I2S directly with the change of a jumper and dip switch.

I really don't want to see them. You call it a manatee, I call it a sea cow.

I am thinking in the 1K range. I would like to make one with the 4 input MUX so you have USB/SPDIF/TOSLINK/AES as inputs. Use the upcoming discrete I/V stage. Also use the new contorler which will allow I/O control/volume/remote and use a VFD display. I also have a couple other ideas but I will have to see about what other functions the new controler will have. If it isn't to crazy expensive and I have enough interest I would like to do it all in a Hifi-2000 case with panels also done by HF-2000. FPE is okay but there is a limit of what you can do. It's all just in my head right now.

That's a pretty broad question. A simple one can be done for about $400 +/-. A full blown one around 1K.

I will have to be sending all my stuff home in the next month or so. So I was thinking I could loan the Buffalo out while I am transitioning from here to home. Each person that wanted to give it a listen could try it for a couple days and then send it on to the next person. It's in a beat up Par-Metal case so I won't be too worried about it getting roughed up moving around. It would most likely be set up for either USB or SPDIF. If I feel motivated I might put a selector on it for switched between the two. If you guys are interested let me know and we can come up with a plan.

None here are blinded by our personal feelings about your "products". I think what bothers us (at least me) is that you are constantly blowing things out your (fat) ass over on HF. It's just one line of BS after the other. A month ago you could barely get a SS working and now your a EE that seems to know everything about signal propagation in the audio frequency range? Please. Then remove it.

Tell us how it it. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on one. I just wish I could find an arm band for it that fits my arm.

This ones easy. I can buy all the cheap gadgets I want. But money won't buy me...oh wait. Never mind.

I'm in the process of formulating a plan right now for a complete TP DAC when all the goodies become available. I probably offer my services for building some in a similar fashion as I did for the B22s I built.

Anyone here have a touch/iPhone they work out with? I have a first gen nano that is about at the end of it's life and am trying to decide what to get. Should I hold out and get a iPhone, or get a nano and a touch? Or just a touch or iPhone. I currently have Sprint as my service provider so it would mean switching services. I also am not sure if I would want to carry something as large as a iPhone in my pocket. Those that have one how do you find it to be size wise in your pockets?
-
I was hoping for 64gb Touch. Oh well. Looks like I might have to get the 32gb for now. And maybe a Nano to replace my gen1.

I plan on using it with a dedicated server so it should be much of an issue since the IP addresses will stay the same. Were you using the 0.5 version with the 2.0 iPod software or the older version?
