    Oz Fest!

Excellent! Okay maybe a couple more cool things here. I could give a tour of the helicopters and there is a Cavalry Museum on post. Could take a field trip to KC and go to Arthur Bryants/Jack Stacks/Boulevard. Plus I'm sure there is plenty of pig to be cooked and spirits to be shared.

Feb it is! There are direct flights from Chicago and Dallas to Manhattan.

    Oz Fest!

Hard to tell. Last year it was cold, in the freezing temps at night, but nothing like the year before where it was single digit. I also agree Feb would be better. Plus it gives me a bit more time to make some brew.

    Oz Fest!

Seeing as it looks like I will be moving away from the great state that brought us prohibition, I think it's time to see if there is any interest in a once in a lifetime Oz Fest? Thinking end of October beginning of November or beginning of February. I would normally say (living other places) that the weather might not be that great, but seeing as what there is to do doesn't really change with the weather, those dates are as good as any. Might make outdoors cooking and smoking a bit colder but I think anyone willing to brave coming to Kansas could handle it. As for activities, we have a Oz museum in Wamego, Tall Grass Brewery (small but the owner is super nice), Zoo, World Famous Aggieville*, KSU bug museum, and a couple others that don't come to mind. As for accommodations, I have two spare bedrooms with queen beds, two couches, and floor space for 30. We also now have a Hilton for anyone that wants to live it up. Any interest? *World being anyone in the Big 12
  5. Great Job, and cornbread sounds yummy right about now.
  6. Gordon? This does look interesting, might replace my PS3 for BD playback.
  7. It's hard to drink two bazillion beers in one session. Might just hang out at the Sam Adams on the second day and Bogart all the Utopias.
  8. I'll be there. Doing GABF on Thursday and Saturday.
  9. I have both a Traeger and a cheaper gas grill. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202018212/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=infrared+grill&storeId=10051#.UES_8NZlR9s I love the Traeger but for daily grilling the gas can't be beat. When I want to add a bit more smoke flavor to my grilling I just throw some pellets in the "infrared" tray on the grill. If you think your going to do a lot of smoking and want easy temp control, get a Traeger (or other pellet grill).
  10. I'm sure I'll get the Yankee tag a bunch.
  11. Might as well throw KC Into the mix. Arthur Bryant's is about as good as it gets.
  12. I'm all in for BBQ, regardless where it is from.
  13. Yeah but the rear door slide back like a mini-van....yeah....
  14. Yes, I'll be working at Robert Gray (Killeen Airport) but most likely living on Georgetown.
  15. Looks like I am going to try my best at making this, especially seeing as I'm going to be joining H-C Team Texas (Austin) in Apr-May. I get to race this
  16. That's a good morning smoke with coffee.
  17. yeah no kidding. I guess someone just needs to buy a winery.
  18. I would establish the budget and goals first, start choosing what you want from there. I have had good luck purchasing equipment from "discount" online stores which can save a bit of coin if your willing to go with their questionable warranty. Sounds like your local shop could build a good custom sealed corner enclosure, which if done right would be better (I would think) than the sound ordnance sub. Then again the SO sub is cheap and will definitely reinforce the lower end with minimal installation headaches. Alpine makes some nice head units with processor add-on.
  19. Good sub. I would first determine what your goals are and how much you want to spend. Factor in labor if you don't plan on doing the work yourself. If possible I highly suggest going all active so you have the best chance of getting the best sound out of your speakers. For the sub, I don't know of any under seat boxes for the Lancer, but you might be able to get one custom make. Better yet I would have a custom made box corner loaded in the trunk. Save under seat for a processor (if you go with one) and amp/s. Also could put everything in the trunk. For the amps I would go with one of the compact D type amps. JL and Alpines are good and you can get them pretty cheap of Ebay or CA forums. Really a million different ways you could go, just need to figure out where you want to start. Any good shops in your area?
  20. I've been meaning to check those out for a while. I think a dealer in Nebraska has some to demo, plus I'm running low on corn....
  21. I should be there. Hung over from GABF.

    Deals

It was a deal, but wrong thread.
  23. Happy birthday! I'm would suggest to have a good drink, but I'm sure you already are.
  24. Stay safe Larry. I know my house there is safe, forest fires don't normally hit the ghetto.
  25. Happy birthday! The Glenrothes sounds like a fine idea.
