    Now for the infamous [ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=fbGkxcY7YFU]buttroll[/ame].
  2. Always compare with good old fashioned lamp cord, as a nice control Another option is braided cat5
  3. Or it's less important, because the minor changes in signal impact the larger current swings less by percentage So use your ears instead of logic to determine if they sound better.
  4. That's one of the laws of the internet
  5. Your blackberry made you spell it wrong? NICE

  9. We won't get into the whole "didn't play the riff right" thing. Since it wasn't supposed to be a note for note reproduction. Not to mention, they did it for an entire tour, not just 1 show. I will buy the "it's a cover" argument, although I think it was a darn good cover, and I listen to it more often than the original these days.
  10. I disagree
  11. The trick to the halloween shows (and that dsotm show) is that they were 1 offs, practiced in secret. They were events. Lots of fun to experience. Not groundbreaking. But quadrophenia was good, as was VU loaded. I really enjoyed the cover summer of 98, when they did a ton of different covers. Their version of sabotage was great fun. As for mule's covers, back in the day, they were awesome. Now that mule's a 4 piece, I dunno, I haven't paid attention. But warren haynes is the most talented guitar player alive, imho.
  12. I had it, but it sucked, so I'm not sure I kept it. I may have the dats somewhere. None of the recordings of that show were good, nor was the performance As to which mfsl, the original release.
  13. reksy is str8 edge
  14. Aerius wants me to add todd rose here, but I think I'll list aerius instead. The guy who, when he's not making really cool informative posts about music, writes like a howard stern obsessed kid with torrets.
  15. All my old vinyl from high school was in my 69 vw bus which got towed when I was poor, and couldn't afford to pay to get it out. So they're long gone. Lost 200 or so records, and another 100 or so tapes. And my bicycle. The tapes weren't a big deal, the vinyl I miss. The covers would make great wall art I had the complete styx catalog, in first pressings.
  16. Since it's not, I won't thank you
  17. torrent? Animals is hands down the best floyd album. Oh, does Les Claypool doing it live count as animals, too
  18. Off the top of my head (i'm at the beach, so can't verify) Flaming Lips - Soft Bulletin (US, English cd pressings, plus dvd-a and remastered us cd) Flaming Lips - Yoshimi (CD and DVD-A) Pink Floyd - Obscurred by Clouds (Columbia and MFSL) Pink Floyd - The Wall (Columbia and MFSL) Pink Floyd - Meddle (Columbia and MFSL) Pink Floyd - Animals (US and English) Pink Flord - Dark Side of the Moon (MFSL, US, Japanese, English, Japanese SACD, and DVD-A burn of the Quad Master, oh, and does the bootleg of the live concert performance count) Gov't Mule - Wintertime Blues Vol 1 and Vol 2 (Official release and my master recordings of the concerts) Phish - 12/31/95 - Phish's sbd release and clones from my buddy's audience master, which is MUCH better Phish - Hampton Comes Alive - Phish's Sbd Release, plus 4 audience versions etc What's funny is I am not a fan of DSOTM
  19. This wasn't the deciding moment, no.
  20. Good luck
  21. Ok, as an example. I was at a concert at one of the big open air pavilions. And I'm waiting in the beer line. Along with about 20 other people. And this dude stumbles up, offers the guy in front of me $5 to cut in front of him. I told him to step off, and head to the back of the line, and wait it out like the rest of us. He got in my face, and I got to smell BO + jack daniels way more than I had any appreciation for, and he was significantly larger than I am. But the point was that if you let people get away with being a jerk, they'll only get worse, so you have to take a stand.
