  1. Yup. Basically, you can't hear jazz listening to the radio, on an elevator, or in a coffee shop. Very little of what gets sold as jazz is interesting. But good jazz is so far from boring that you can't really even get there from here. As I mentioned in another thread, some of the experimental jazz has more in common with punk rock than it ever would with kenny g.
  2. Obviously if you don't own headphones anymore, you never did, and therefore can't know anything
  3. If changing the pads makes it not bloated, you're just not hearing the bloat after changing the pads.
  4. I wouldn't call bloated bass too much. I'd call it bloated. That's usually indicative of something wrong with the amplifier.
  5. I've never seen 340s, let alone heard them. But most people who complain about bass levels on headphones have never experienced a rock and roll show, imho. With some music, it's impossible to have too much bass on headphones. Physically impossible. PS1s approach realistic, minus the tachycardia.
  6. Boomana is in charge of discipline.
  7. Yah, that's definitely splitting into left and right. The description is daft.
  8. So he's human, made a mistake, and corrected it when pointed out? And you probably deserved the temp ban?
  9. What's your problem with zanth?
  10. happy birthday dude!
  11. The plan was always that this year's raffle pays for next year's meet. It's a good plan
  12. The only moderator I know that was messing with me was jude.
  13. Chili made from scratch, starting with dried peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, a chuck roast, beer, and lots and lots of cook time. Wasn't bad.
  14. I wouldn't mind a black model, then I could be like deniro!
  15. krylon!
  16. of course xbox has hddvd, which is gonna win the war, so I wouldn't pick ps3 for bluray.
  17. Probably. They were a lot like yours. Goofy beyer headband, cpads that left tacky residue on the cups, dings galore. Got them from an administrator on this board . I may have paid a little more than 700, it's been a long while. But I couldn't resell them later, so I had them made into ps3000s.
  18. They were in awful shape.
  19. rofl nate. Mean.
  20. I've seen ps1s sell for everything between $700 (what I paid) and $2400 (JG2s, on ebay). I'd guess $1800-2200 for true unopened ps1s. But I'm also guessing yours aren't really NOS, but instead, lightly used.
  21. that version works for me in safari
  22. There's another option when you live in the middle of nowhere. You buy the things you're interested in hearing used. I went through a TON of gear while I was living in alaska. You have to pay attention to the various forsale sites, but when stuff comes up at a great price, jump on it. Then you can often resell for enough to cover your expenses, and if not, think of the difference as a rental fee. This is a lot more useful than meet time. Enough more useful, that I mostly look at meets as a place to hang out with people and get ideas.
  23. By the, he means his
  24. They're based on ps1s drivers, but old school hp1 shells. They sold for $85 a pair.
  25. I guess I'm not in my right mind. I wipe servers for upgrades with some regularity. I back up the stuff I will need, and wipe.
