Yup. Basically, you can't hear jazz listening to the radio, on an elevator, or in a coffee shop. Very little of what gets sold as jazz is interesting. But good jazz is so far from boring that you can't really even get there from here. As I mentioned in another thread, some of the experimental jazz has more in common with punk rock than it ever would with kenny g.
I've never seen 340s, let alone heard them. But most people who complain about bass levels on headphones have never experienced a rock and roll show, imho. With some music, it's impossible to have too much bass on headphones. Physically impossible. PS1s approach realistic, minus the tachycardia.
Probably. They were a lot like yours. Goofy beyer headband, cpads that left tacky residue on the cups, dings galore. Got them from an administrator on this board . I may have paid a little more than 700, it's been a long while. But I couldn't resell them later, so I had them made into ps3000s.
I've seen ps1s sell for everything between $700 (what I paid) and $2400 (JG2s, on ebay). I'd guess $1800-2200 for true unopened ps1s. But I'm also guessing yours aren't really NOS, but instead, lightly used.
