  1. Happy birthday!
  2. congrats!
  3. Woofers aren't particularly directional. As long as mids and tweets are above the chair you should be good.
  4. So as I see it, it's basically ripping the cd using a reliable ripper, then playing it back with linux. But you still need the disc every time you play it. I guess it depends on the quality of the DAC they're using as to whether it's worthwhile, given that you can do similar things with computers and get to pick your own dac etc.

  6. Just finished 2 cups of white rice, the only food I've eaten all day.
  7. holy fuck am I. approximately 23 hrs after I stopped drinking, I still am not at 100%. Last night, at the hockey tournament, I put away about 2/3 of a bottle of mount gay 100 proof Eclipse Black. I threw up repeatedly last night. I woke up, drank some gatorade, and threw up again. I barely managed to check out of the hotel by noon. No more liquor at hockey tournaments. I'll bring a 6 pack at most. The loss of judgement from the first glass too rapidly leads to additional lapses of judgement.
  8. happy birthday mr toole
  9. I got my invite, but I haven't bothered to do anything with it yet
  10. Happy birthday tiny!
  11. drove to pittsburgh for a hockey tournament. So far they're 1 and 1
  12. no, he's interested in shilling for cavelli.
  13. I just think you're missing a lot if you don't find the small ones sometimes...and if you're not expecting it, the big ones are really uncomfortable, and you don't get to sit much.
  14. I bought and sold mostly used on a fairly reasonable budget. I got into headphones while living in alaska, and I knew of exactly 1 other headphone geek in the town I lived in. I bought and sold a lot of gear, kept an eye out for good deals, and was generally an opportunist with it. Then I found the things I really liked, and hopped off the turnstile.
  15. Well, sure, but $1000 for a monitor is money that could buy a LOT of good whiskey.
  16. So it sounds like you wouldn't recommend the 11" dell. The 11" macbook air keyboard is exactly the same size as the keyboard on the macbook pro, and that ships with the imac.
  17. But you HAVEN'T lived with an 11" as your only screen. In practice, it's the same resolution as the 13" macbook pro, and lots of people use that as their only screen. That's why I recommend using it for a month before you decide. I think the thunderbolt display is way overkill for a monitor for anyone not using it professionally, when you can get a big, reasonable quality monitor for under $200.
  18. the little ones, too.
  19. I'd say sell your old computers, and get a monitor to use with the macbook air, but don't buy the monitor til you've used the air as is for a month or so. I think you'll find even the 11" display is great for what most people do.
  20. for the airs? a long time. For the pros? Rumor is they're coming soon, in air trim (aka 15 and 17" airs soon, with no more pros)
  21. I love my 11" enough that after having it for almost a year, when I killed my last one, I got another, instead of going iwth a different size.
