https://www.wwoz.org/listen/player/?fbclid=IwAR15My3oYvcIQgi_3ePB0jzjqVpx84tZHF1GDs63WS23ma__NeYO_9GhWAk It's all I've listened to since they did jazz fest in place.

I decided to let this roaster pass me by, because it would complicate my divorce. I think it'll be 6 months til I buy a good roaster.
-
I agree, and if it weren't something that was on my radar for a future purchase, I wouldn't consider it at all. But this particular machine can do reasonably small roasts when needed, so it's a good one to grow on. It's something that's on my radar. I'm not positive I can pull it off. Quitter. I can help you with that issue... Anyway. We'll see. I'm trying to figure out if this is life presenting me with an opportunity to go all in in a time when other things might make that easier, or if it's just something to think about in the future.

nope, it's a 12. It was a 5 years down the road purchase, but one showed up for the price of the 5 lb roaster I was looking at. The biggest drawback is it's 1000 freaking pounds. So there's housing the beast that's at issue.

Ok, I have a line on a Diedrich 12.5 KG roaster, so now it's time to get serious. Who would be interested in signing up for 3, 6 or 12 months of coffee from me? 2 pounds a month, $30 a month local or $40 a month shipped? I'd pick 2 varieties a month. I'm trying to see if it would make sense to try this. I need to hit the equivalent of about 80 yearly subscriptions to make it worth investing in the roaster. Edit: Ok, that was amazingly unclear. $90 for 3 months face to face, $120 shipped. $165 for 6 months face to face, $225 shipped, and $300 for a year, or $420 shipped.

yah, I've read all of Gibson's books. Spoilers abound, but Agency gets too many things right.

I know you're old enough to mean you had camels follow you while you rode.

I have to upgrade my roaster before it makes any kind of sense. It takes about 30 minutes per half pound, so it makes more sense to give it away at this point.
-
I'm glad you're enjoying it! That's a fantastic compliment.

I use the Yemen coffee when I wanna sit and enjoy my coffee slowly. It's way too subtle for my first cup of the day most days.
-
given that Yemen is a war zone, and they have to smuggle it out... for me to get Yemeni beans it's 3-4x more per pound to buy, and it's a trickier bean to roast correctly. It's also really hard to get in any kind of quantity. It's amazing to me that it's cheaper than Kona or Blue Mountain, and I think it's significantly better than either.
-
my roast, I have a few options...Indian Mysore (why I started roasting), some Guatemalan, some Bali Blue Moon, probably a few others.
-
anyone interested, send me your address and I'll send you a half pound of my coffee.

I had waited until last week to open them, and now I wonder why? Those glasses and ice spheres are perfect.

that’s amazing work, Al and Steve. I’m impressed.
