  2. that's not crazy huge on your wrist, I wouldn't worry about it.
  3. https://www.nextplatform.com/2019/11/22/arm-supercomputer-captures-the-energy-efficiency-crown/ ARM doesn't have to be low end, and apple's put quite a bit of effort into the platform...GPUs can easily do the heavy lifting.

  6. Behringer's been making fantastic products for years. And a mini Moog for $250 is a no brainer. I bought one of the first batch, it's a blast. Certainly Behringer is more reliable than Mackie or Arturia these days.

  8. that's stunning
  9. not much of a reader, are you? You've used 636kb of your 500kb attachment limit. Upload it to an image hosting site, and link to it.
  10. replaced the diverter in my shower, after it broke right as I got in for my morning shower.

  14. I decided to let this roaster pass me by, because it would complicate my divorce. I think it'll be 6 months til I buy a good roaster.
  15. I agree, and if it weren't something that was on my radar for a future purchase, I wouldn't consider it at all. But this particular machine can do reasonably small roasts when needed, so it's a good one to grow on. It's something that's on my radar. I'm not positive I can pull it off. Quitter. I can help you with that issue... Anyway. We'll see. I'm trying to figure out if this is life presenting me with an opportunity to go all in in a time when other things might make that easier, or if it's just something to think about in the future.
  16. nope, it's a 12. It was a 5 years down the road purchase, but one showed up for the price of the 5 lb roaster I was looking at. The biggest drawback is it's 1000 freaking pounds. So there's housing the beast that's at issue.
  17. Ok, I have a line on a Diedrich 12.5 KG roaster, so now it's time to get serious. Who would be interested in signing up for 3, 6 or 12 months of coffee from me? 2 pounds a month, $30 a month local or $40 a month shipped? I'd pick 2 varieties a month. I'm trying to see if it would make sense to try this. I need to hit the equivalent of about 80 yearly subscriptions to make it worth investing in the roaster. Edit: Ok, that was amazingly unclear. $90 for 3 months face to face, $120 shipped. $165 for 6 months face to face, $225 shipped, and $300 for a year, or $420 shipped.
  18. yah, I've read all of Gibson's books. Spoilers abound, but Agency gets too many things right.
  19. https://www.amazon.com/Agency-William-Gibson/dp/110198693X This hits things a little too on the nose, to be science fiction.

  22. I have to upgrade my roaster before it makes any kind of sense. It takes about 30 minutes per half pound, so it makes more sense to give it away at this point.
  23. I'm glad you're enjoying it! That's a fantastic compliment.
