  2. I haven't heard the 5s or 6s, but I'm very happy with my 4s. When I want more than they can do, I turn on the big speakers.
  3. emotiva pro airmotiv4s
  4. Just finished season 4 of Breaking Bad. Now we have to find the first couple of episodes from season 5, as our dvr hasn't caught them yet. That's 4 seasons of breaking bad in just over 2 weeks.

Emotiva coupon: Every year we make it “worth the trek” for our friends. We think some people make the journey just for the amazing deals we have at Emofest. We realize, though, that there are many people that participate in Emofest weekend, despite not actually being physically present at our facility. The activity on the Emotiva Lounge was at an all-time high over Labor Day weekend. So, for those of you who were unable to make it (or for those of you who were, but still have your Emobucks to cash in) we are extending the love... From now until 9/30 we are offering 10% off any non-clearance product* at both emotiva.com and emotivapro.com. Just enter code: LOVE2012 at checkout
  6. Or just a 120gb iPod classic.

it's parallels 7 that was being sold, anyway.
  8. I don't want to take it into the lab, I want to have it at my desk, not in the secure area.
  9. The VTGs are pretty easy on headphone amps, so maybe it's good enough. /me starts budgeting. Or maybe I'll get the M4 I was promised ages ago?
  10. So prior to my current job, I'd never have considered plugging a hard drive into a bluray player as being preferable to having a media server. That said, NOW I'd do it. Stupid "you can't bring a non-gov't owned computer, or anything with internet access to work" rule. So yah, I'd love it if the oppo played alac from a usb connected hard drive. Someone make that happen, please. I'd spend the $1000 on the oppo, plus money on the headphone amp (why did I sell my g-lite?)..maybe if I bring in the mini and apogee, but turn off wifi they'll allow it?
  11. Or just play the music on your computer, and use the oppo as a dac.
  12. Do they pay you for the advertising? If not, you should approach them and offer your services.
  13. Apparently think tank has a new 13" laptop + gadget bag coming out next week (heavily implied by a company rep in a thread on engadget)
  14. I had an irish white cheddar tonight

    thanks, purchased.
  16. Passed my Linux+ cert, thus clearing the last beaurocratic hurdle to being able to do my job.
  17. prosit!

  19. I'm ok with the new screen. I would have hated it if they'd made it any wider. It's right at the cusp of too wide for my pockets already. Adding 1/2" to the length is a reasonable compromise. Any wider and it's a tablet, not a phone.
  20. I haven't noticed a difference on my last couple of iPhones. Perhaps it's level matching or confirmation bias?
  21. You have a true, variable line out in the headphone jack. Given that it went through an opamp either way it hardly seems to matter. I imagine we'll see more dac/amps going forward.
