Passed our functionality test. Apparently it was the best function test in the last 10+ years. Now we need to figure out a few annoying details, and then enter our 30 day run test. Given what you do, and your clearance, I think it's something that makes sense. And getting a relationship with this lab might benefit both you and the lab...

you can get a much smaller monitor than the imac, but the imac is a good solution (and what I use)

I think the key is "new enough for mountain lion", but I'm not sure which of the core 2 duos makes that possible. I'd go with mountain lion because that will last you longest with itunes.
