  1. I couldn't ride up my driveway
  2. Ok, now that is "ok, fuck this I'm moving" territory.
  3. My experience says most people do ok in those areas. You just plan for it better. You dress appropriately (flannel or quilted lining pants, sweaters, fleeces, etc), you start your car 5 minutes before going to it, so it's warmed up, etc. It's just a matter of what you expect.
  4. There are fewer whiners in areas that regularly see -40
  5. I miss the cold. We've had a little snow here this week and it's just irritating.
  6. http://www.winthefight.org/savageman/ Savageman apparently has a brutal hill climb. If you make it up the big hill without putting your feet down, you get your name on a brick in the road.
  7. from my reading, he broke it doing what they asked him to do (take it apart)
  8. thank Greg for all the whiskey headphone tie ins. glen rothes at can jam la was a hit.

  11. you lose the ability to reference other systems on your network with .local
  12. my dog did that kind of thing in alaska. He'd go nuts for snow. He was a norbottenspets (nordic spitz), a norwegian bird dog.
  13. I assume it's a practice. That's called a lacrosse goal, and it takes long enough you'd get clobbered if you tried it in a game.
  14. a racketball covered in sticky tape? I hate both my caseback wrenches.

I imagine you won't be back after your 14 day warning period is up.
  17. I don't think it's for fuel savings, I think those cars make way more power for their weight.
  18. yes, all you need is a mini-displayport to displayport cable, justin.
  19. their malpractice insurance is insane
  20. last story she read said it was his friend's car, and paul was the passenger. Not sure what the relationship of this was to the charity event, but he'd apparently been giving people rides as part of that event.
  21. My wife was saying it happened at a charity exhibition. It's a shame.
  22. sometimes the ticket is worth it...
  23. There's no telling what the permissions are if you copied them from an NTFS partition. I'd run "repair permissions" against them. Or, from a terminal window, sudo chown -R yourusername /Volumes/drive, in addition to the chflags -R nouchg There have also been reports of problems with I believe western digital software that was bundled with some external drives, but I have no idea if that's what's impacting you. I've never seen your symptoms before.
  24. Are you using itunes? If not, and you're using some other server program, perhaps it's locked the files for it's use? If you're using itunes, just set the itunes directory to be the new drive, then import the music. I've never had that fail. If you're not doing things apple's way, then results obviously vary greatly, and you won't see a benefit to using apple's hardware.
