And maybe the style of distortion present in most transducers offsets the flaws in most methods of reproduction. If the source material isn't perfect (and none of it is) then having perfect reproduction of that isn't ideal. If the flaws of one help the other, and vice versa, then that can only be a good thing, unless you're trying to analyze those flaws.
What's the source of that?
I'll say that
1) any standard that has "it must be open" is full of shit,
and
2) any standard that has the HD650 doing worse than the HD700 is also full of shit.

as head-case slightly over your budget examples.
It has nothing to do with your skill as a photographer (we don't care). It has to do with your skill as a reader. You selected the wrong venue, because we don't care. That's clearly spelled out in the welcome message you were sent when you signed up, and that is linked to repeatedly on the forum (including my signature, if you've missed it everywhere else). Until we care about you, we don't care about what you have to say.
My experience says most people do ok in those areas. You just plan for it better. You dress appropriately (flannel or quilted lining pants, sweaters, fleeces, etc), you start your car 5 minutes before going to it, so it's warmed up, etc. It's just a matter of what you expect.
